We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Rafael Reyes. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Rafael below.
Alright, Rafael thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s start with something countless entrepreneurs have had to figure out on the fly – how have you dealt with the rise of remote work?
In the ever-evolving world of real estate, I’ve found that embracing remote work not only allows for greater flexibility but also enhances my ability to serve clients more effectively. Whether you’re buying, selling, or investing in property, remote work has provided me with the tools and strategies to stay efficient, connected, and proactive even when not physically on-site. Here’s how I’ve made it work for me and my real estate business:
Video Calls & Virtual Meetings: The core of remote real estate work is maintaining clear, open communication. Tools like Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet allow me to connect with clients, colleagues, and other real estate professionals in real time. Whether it’s a consultation, a negotiation, or a contract review, video calls have become a highly effective way to maintain a personal touch without the need to meet in person.
Social Media Marketing: Digital platforms are an essential part of my marketing strategy. I use Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube to showcase listings, share virtual tours, and provide market insights. Remote work has given me the flexibility to create high-quality content and engage with potential clients without the need for a traditional office space.
Online Workshops and Webinars: I host online workshops and webinars for first-time buyers, investors, and sellers. These virtual sessions allow me to share valuable knowledge on topics like mortgage processes, staging homes, and understanding market trends. Clients can attend from the comfort of their homes, making it easier to fit into their busy schedules.
By embracing remote work, I’ve been able to stay highly responsive and connected with my clients—whether they’re just starting their home search or finalizing a deal. Technology allows me to be incredibly efficient, and the flexibility it offers helps me create a client-first experience. In an industry as fast-paced and dynamic as real estate, being able to adapt and stay agile has been key to maintaining high service levels and achieving success.
Remote work has not only allowed me to grow my business but also to build stronger relationships with clients by meeting them where they are—whether that’s at their kitchen table, on a lunch break, or from across the world.
In real estate, as in life, flexibility is the key to success. And by embracing remote work, I’ve made sure I can offer that flexibility to my clients, while still delivering the highest level of service.

Rafael, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am the oldest of 4 boys, and grew up with very little in my family. We migrated to the United States in the mid 90’s when I was around 9 years old. I still remember how I could not stand the cold weather and the language change but little did I know, it was where I would build my entire life and career. At an early age I always enjoyed learning about homes and development but did not have many people in my circle that knew anything about this. One of my first jobs was at the Boys and Girls Club in Charlestown and this is where I started to see the importance of responsibility, being on time, and making money. Fast forward a bit into my 20’s I was studying at the University of Massachusetts Boston, where I graduated with my Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice. I met so many great friends and mentors back then, and still appreciate how it all happened. The connections I made in college helped me get jobs, housing opportunities and even network with people who eventually convinced me to get my Real Estate license. My family and I always rented and I felt this would be the best way to get into a home. Living in low income housing was not the best and I remember clearly how bad situations were outside our home. Once I understood how it all worked, I decided to make more money and convince my family to buy a house using my Real Estate license. After that it was all history and today I am one of the Top Social Media Real Estate influencers in New England, dont believe me? check me out on Instagram @BuyWithRey :)
I bring many years of experience in Real Estate, excellent customer service and a commitment to work hard, listen and follow through. Providing quality service to build relationships with clients and more importantly, maintain those relationships by communicating effectively. My business is based on more than 80 percent referrals from satisfied clients. Most important to me is providing the most excellent service to buyers and sellers in order to earn their trust, referrals, and repeat business. I have sold homes in all price ranges from starter homes and high-dollar estate properties to uptown condominiums, ranch properties, and investment properties. Clients appreciate my flexibility, low pressure sales, patience, ability to listen and hear what a client wants, negotiation and analytic skills, and the ability to accurately price and market a home.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
My first 5 years in Real Estate I did not do much with my license, but I knew I wanted to get things going. As I navigated many struggles in learning the business and working a full time job, it was not the easiest thing to manage. I worked 40 hours a week at a 9-5 job but I wanted to be a Realtor. Balance work life and personal life was just not a walk in the park at all, imagine coming home from a long day at work and then having to find more energy to help a new client find a home or rental apartment. I continued with my license and renewing it every year since I did not want to give up on my dream career. I sold probably 1-2 homes a year for those first 5 years. Something interesting happened that I had no choice and I really had to get going, my father passed on November 2nd 2019 and I remember telling him I was going to own more properties and have one for him so he won’t have to work anymore. To make it worst, COVID was on the verge of changing my life forever. This is when my retail store had shut down for almost a whole month. That’s when I started using my Real Estate license and really getting into work. I made 3 closings in one month and that was the beginning of a new journey.

Have you ever had to pivot?
My entire life changed when COVID happened. Not only was this a blessing in disguise but the BEST thing that could ever happen to me. It forced me to change jobs and really take Real Estate more serious, and to the NEXT LEVEL! I used the best tool I had in hand, my smartphone! I have made all my most powerful connections with my phone. I am forever grateful for this moment.
