Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Raeven Kirk. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Raeven, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?

Our mission is to empower women through the artistry of lashes and the wisdom of tarot. Both have impacted my personal life in such a positive manner, creating a sense of community, collaboration and connection. I have never felt so alive and inspired, every day I get to work with the most amazing, beautiful women. Both inside and out.

This is my “why”. Lash Karma strives to inspire confidence, one lash and tarot reading at a time.

Raeven, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I’m a 31 year old Pisces sun, Aquarius moon, and Scorpio rising. I’m pretty into astrology and cosmic stuff. I have a tabby cat named Tigger who’s the sweetest little bean. We moved from Los Angeles back to my hometown in Omaha back in March 2020. The move was due to me being hospitalized for 30 days after a bad domestic breakup. It brought some serious injuries that I still struggle with, yet have improved thanks to my faith and different forms of therapy. With the Pandemic breakout, I had a lot of time to sit by myself and get my life (and Tigger’s) figured out.

I decided to take a lash class that following fall. While taking that 2-day class, I also moved into the first apartment I had ever gotten on my own. It was liberating, I felt I could conquer the world. Once I became lash certified, I started to get even more invested in my training and education. I was obsessed with lashes, enjoying mastering natural classic sets before moving on to more intricate styles.

Lash Karma is the embodiment of creating good vibes, both inside and out. Being a beauty business owner has its tough moments, but that’s where my spirituality kicks in. Connecting to our universe/Higher Power has allowed me to understand life from different angles. It’s allowed me to explore more about myself, which helps me grow, and in turn become a better being. Growing from struggles and starting over can absolutely feel scary. Lash Karma reminds me every day of why its worth it.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?

Show up how you truly are versus how you think you should be perceived. Authenticity truly is key. I’ve learned that no matter what you do, people will receive you however they choose. You may as well live freely. My business has taught me this lesson. The more I show up as me, fully me, the more I meet people on the same wavelength. I meet those who accept me. My business shows me how much more aligned I am with clients now more than ever before.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?

Word of mouth, for sure! I currently do not run any ads or promotions, all my clientele is referral based. I enjoy making my clients feel pampered, and they enjoy spreading the word about their experience.
