We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Raegen Davis. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Raegen below.
Raegen, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s start with a story that highlights an important way in which your brand diverges from the industry standard.
In a very traditional and at times dated industry, we strive to put a focus on inclusivity. Instead of offering one “sample size” to try on in each style, we typically have 2-3 sizes so that brides of all shapes and sizes can have a confidence boosting experience.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
Dearly Loved is a bridal shop with two brick and mortar locations in Middleville, MI & Franklin, TN. We also have all of our gowns online for brides to shop all across the country! Unlike most bridal shops, we focus on affordability and size inclusivity- all gowns are under $1200, and available in sizes 00-32. In the last 4 years, we have built a brand known for its one of a kind bridal experience, and we truly love helping you find your dress, no matter your budget!
Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
Our team is the backbone of our business. I am so proud to have an incredible crew that makes this dream possible.
Our team is strong because I make sure that each persons role has purpose and is reflective of their gifts and talents. Diving deep into our team members passions, and truly getting to know each of them has made maintaining an efficient team possible.
When morale is low, making sure each member of the team knows how valuable they are is important. We also create fun games and incentives to help keep the environment exciting!
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
When I opened the shop, we had a completely different business model. We sold once worn gowns, and took gowns on consignment from the public. We were finding that we were working with a bride that was frustrated by her choices, and could never find anything that fit. After a year, we began to pivot and started purchasing sample gowns from other bridal shops. The brides loved the gowns were unaltered, and the styles continued to get better. By year 2, we curated our own line of gowns, and began leaning into a traditional made to order business model. Today, we have a balanced mix of samples and special order gowns and our bride finds her dress 9/10!
