Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Radmila Lolly. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Radmila, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Are you able to earn a full-time living from your creative work? If so, can you walk us through your journey and how you made it happen?
As an entrepreneur I understand we live in a material world. The transition shouldn’t be quitting your day job and completely immerse into the unknown. However, continuously work on your “big project” and bigger goals. Every hour, every day, even if you are not working, you are thinking about it. A lot of times, that is when you can have that AHA moment. Trusting the process is a huge part of being able to propel forward which also takes learning patience to do so. Patience along with experience, is something that comes with time which is why I don’t think I could have sped up the process knowing what I know now.
Radmila, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
It all started with me being a Classical Singer and from there it led to incorporating fashion. When I was young, a lot of the time I could not find what I wanted to wear in stores so I started making my own designs for performances and daily wear. As a Classical Singer, it required me to be out in the public eye a lot giving me the hunger to create the best experience for the audience. Music is not only something that touches the hearing sense, but it touches the sight sense. Fast forward to now, I am most known for being an Opera Singer and Fashion Designer.
I always knew there was more for me beyond the Classical World and fashion helped me find my voice. I had Classical Training and was exposed to the fashion world initially through my Mother who is an artist and also created her own pieces. So the ability to constantly have the two feed off each other is where the magic happens. As a creative, every detail of how you showcase your work is important.
What I am most proud of is that I went with my soul. Seeing my visions become a reality is the best faith can give.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Stay true to yourself. As individuals we are all unique and that uniqueness is what people seek.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding thing about being an artist is being able to inspire. I put my heart into my work and being able to bring people together to share in that expression is fulfilling. I want to do my part in this world and leave something behind after I leave this earth. The Arts are important to sustain especially in this ever evolving automated world. If I can inspire just one person and that inspiration travels from one individual to the next, it will eventually inspire the next generation.
