We were lucky to catch up with Radie Steiner recently and have shared our conversation below.

Radie, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Are you happier as a business owner? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job?

The short answer is yes. I know I am meant to be an Entrepreneur. Do I wish I had steady income? ABSOLUTELY. But the alternative is that I would not be fulfilling my purpose and that is not an option. I have taken photos since the age of 10 years old and it is absolutely what makes me happy. I love gifting people amazing photos which lift them which in turn lifts me. Is this a difficult journey- yes, is it worth it? 100 percent. I have to remind myself of that often.

Radie, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I was born in Columbus, Indiana in a rural area. I started in Photography in 4-H at the age of 10 years old. I have been published in Rand McNally Atlas, Whiskey Advocate Magazine and named Hoosier Artist of the year. My Landscape photography has been commissioned in several office settings. I have recently been working with Lifestyle Photography; Headshots, Engagement, Outdoor weddings and Family Photos. I specialize in Natural Light Photography. When I met my husband in 2017, Abstract Artist Evan Lloyd Steiner from New Jersey, on Instagram via our art accounts- we formed Steiner Studios Art. He provides Abstract Artwork and we have a variety of over 130 marble art coasters. We have a wholesale printer print our art on Carrara marble art coasters that we sell in our studio and several local stores.
Evan and I pride ourselves on providing uplifting artwork for individuals and businesses.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?

I graduated with a Degree in Nursing from Indiana University. I knew I wanted to help people. However, I wasn’t fulfilled. Therefore I started pursing photography again. I sat out initially to only do Landscape and had a rule to not photograph people. However, I was asked by several people to take their photos. Reluctantly I did. I found out I had a knack of getting people comfortable in front of the camera and now that is a majority of what I do. I truly love it and I am again helping people feel good about themselves in photos.

We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.

I had a friend recommend Instagram. I started an account for my Photography. I followed several people, including my now husband, Evan Lloyd Steiner. I did not realize he was living in New Jersey at the time. 2 years after following each other he messaged- Hi! I said- hi – where are you? We met within 30 days of that message. He asked I take photos of his abstract artwork. We were engaged within 2 months and married a year to the date of the message- Feb 17, 2018. He moved to Indianapolis, Indiana and the rest is history. We founded Steiner Studios Art in 2018 and provide Abstract Art and Photography. We have an art Studio in the Circle City Industrial Complex in Indianapolis, Indiana. We also provide wholesale marble art coasters of our artwork.
