Hi Radiance , thanks for joining us today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
Keep your heart and intentions pure. Do good by people without being taken advantage of and the love and support will come without being forced.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Radiance Bryant and I have been a hairstylist my whole life. I started with doing my own, then my friends in my neighborhood as a kid. Growing up, I knew the level of service that I wanted so I knew the level of service that I would provide. You may not be the best hairstylist in the world, however, providing great customer service and making your clients feel like they are at home will outweigh a bad haircut.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
I went into a private studio, six months after graduating cosmetology school and passing my state board. Everyone called me crazy. I didn’t have a single standing client, but I knew what I was meant to do. I worked in that private studio for 13 years until I realize that was no longer the for me, 2 years ago I opened up my own salon that I am extremely proud of. It was one of the toughest decisions I’ve ever had to make however I wouldn’t change it for the world. My pivot came when I realized I was being tolerated and not celebrated. I did not lose a single client during my transition. I knew I made the right decision.
How did you build your audience on social media?
Always be authentic. In a world full of “imposter syndrome” ALWAYS be consistent and be yourself the right people will find you.
