Racquel, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What do you think it takes to be successful?
Thanks for having me, first of all, success is subjective and it differs from person to person. However, I believe it takes drive and faith to be successful at anything you’re striving for. On the good days when business is booming it’s easy to show up. On those days when you don’t feel like doing the work or your numbers are looking a little funny. It’s going to take your why.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Sure, I’m Racquel, owner of East of Eden Natural, home of the best selling Anti Breakage Hair Growth Butter, I started officially selling natural hair growth products back in 2019 after struggling with postpartum hair loss. Since then we’ve helped over 7000 of our customers restore their health back into their hair. It makes us so proud to hear that our customers are now confident in their hair after struggling with hair loss issues for years. We’re confident that healthy hair begins with us. Our mission is to Heal, Restore and Build Confidence in our customers after using our hair growth system, That’s what keeps us going!!
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
The first thing that helped us build our reputation will have to be quality products. We pride ourselves on only using the BEST natural ingredients to formulate and make our products. Never any chemicals or ingredients that will be harmful for our customers’ hair health. We want our customers to be able to read our ingredients list and know exactly what’s in the product they’ll be using. Secondly, customer service, customer service is so important when it comes to building your brand. We pride ourselves on providing our customers with service that they can trust. We want to be in direct communication with our customers for any questions or concerns. I would advise every business owner to make sure you always have a way for your customers to contact you, and that you get back to them within 24 hours. Don’t have your customer waiting. It will also help to have your policies and procedures readily available for them to access. Lastly, reviews and testimonials are EVERYTHING. Reviews will help you drive sales and book more clients because people want to know if you’re the real deal before making an investment.
Can you talk to us about how you funded your business?
After carefully testing our products, my husband and I used $250 to buy the ingredients to make a small batch of our Anti Breakage Hair Growth, we mixed it up and put it on our website. That’s it!! Our business was born from $250. Sometimes it doesn’t take a lot to start, but money management and continually reinvesting is so important.
If you’re looking to start up your business, start with what you already have and if you’re lacking something, borrow from your friends or family. I’m reminded of the story in the Bible (2 Kings 4) with the widow that had to pay her debt or she would eventually lose her sons, and the prophet asked her what she had in her home, in which she had oil. To paraphrase the widow was able to burrow jars from her community to pour the oil and sell it to pay her debt. I’m challenging you to dig deep and examine what are the gifts and talents that you already have and can profit from. Trust me it’s in you and around you!! Just do it!!
