We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Rachel Weber. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Rachel below.
Rachel, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
This summer I had a really meaningful engagement session at Zion National Park with Tucker and Lesley. When we started talking about their engagement session they mentioned how much travel means to them and their relationship. They floated out the idea of taking photos at Zion and I was immediately down!
Lesley and Tucker took a week in the summer to explore Utah and I was out for a month road-tripping the US and we met up at Zion. We had some general ideas of locations and plans for the day but we mostly went with the flow and let them be themselves, it turned out amazing!
It was my first time visiting Zion National Park and getting to experience it with them and take photos in such a gorgeous place was the best way I could’ve imagined.
They had been exploring and having fun in Utah the week leading up to our shoot so it was the perfect extension of them just enjoying their time together and being natural. I’m so obsessed with how everything turned out!!

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Photos had always been meaningful to me, like other kids in my generation I was always running around with a little digital camera taking photos of my friends and things I found pretty. I kept this going, upgrading to an entry-level professional camera in high school/college, but always just doing it as a hobby, because that’s all I thought it could be.
Then in college, I started taking graduation photos for friends and realized that I loved it and it was the perfect combination of all of my skills. I taught myself everything I could, begged my sister and her boyfriend to model for me, and worked my way into photographing weddings. Once I started that I knew it’s what I absolutely loved. Getting to be a part of such an important day, capturing all the natural beautiful moments, and sharing in the happiness of my couples is everything I could’ve wanted.
As I photographed more and more weddings, I learned I loved helping couples enjoy a season that’s authentic to them and doing what feels natural. I love when my couples are down to explore, have fun, and do something unique! I’ll always be cheering my couples on to jump in the water, let go, and enjoy the moment.
I always recommend taking a moment with your partner to think about what’s important to you both in this season of your life, and creating a celebration that honors your relationship!

We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
I really want my clients to feel like friends, and by the time we’ve spent their whole wedding season together, we’ve become friends! I tell my clients I’m here for them, whatever they need help with. We always start with a video chat to meet, then keep up with texts and emails, sometimes directly about wedding photos, but also just cool ideas either of us saw or questions they might have about the wedding process in general. I love keeping up with my clients on social media so I can see the fun things they’re doing or any new pets/homes/milestones in their lives! Overall, I find this open dialogue builds trust, helps me understand their vision for their day, and creates a better wedding experience!

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Sending out a sneak peek or full gallery of photos is always a vulnerable moment. This is art that I’ve created for another person. So much goes into understanding their vision, capturing their natural selves, then curating and editing a final gallery that represents their story. The moment I get that text back that’s in all caps, full of emojis and raving about how much they love their photos is always the most rewarding thing and ultimately is why I do what I do!
