We were lucky to catch up with Rachel Turner recently and have shared our conversation below.
Rachel, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. To kick things off, we’d love to hear about things you or your brand do that diverge from the industry standard
My products change very frequently, well, except for butterfly hoop earrings. Butterfly charms have lasted since the opening of Evolve. I like to change things around and create new products based on consumer interests, as well as my own.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Soon after graduating from West Virginia University in 2018, I lost my father to a motorcycle accident.
My dad and I were very close. I was an only child. We had the same sense of humor and liked to explore nature together. We had future plans to travel by food truck, one that we were supposed to start together.
When I no longer had him in my life, everything changed. My relationships with friends and family felt different. Being an only child, it was now just my mom and me. My life shifted dramatically.
At first, I tried to control my life by attempting to keep things the same as they had been.
I thought to myself, If I could just keep comfortable, I would be okay.
But the comfort never came. It was just this void that was never-ending.
Until I made the decision to Evolve.
Evolve started on March 11, 2020, right before the world shut down due to the COVID-19
Pandemic.
I sold my first plant before I officially opened, so I guess you could say that is how I began the business by simply saying, “Yes, that is for sale!”
I knew I would always have my own business, but I just was not sure what “Evolve” would actually be. Hence the name. Hence my current life state.
I had just one mission: bringing together like-minded individuals through art, self-expression, and plant design. I wanted to create, and help others create personalized pieces to add to their own space and overall vibe.
I create wire art, crystal jewelry, and now even offer marketing/branding assistance. I have assisted small businesses by helping them reach social media goals, and execute a few local events. I believe my purpose is to connect and connect others.
Months later, I have evolved along with my business by creating products that I and my customers are happy all without changing one thing: My Mission.
I think the most thing I am proud of is getting to empower others while meeting people that helped save me along the way.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Be authentic and do not overthink too much. Create posts that are eye-catching, but also include CTA’s to get more engagement. But overall, I believe I built my audience by being myself and having genuine conversations with others, and being transparent about what I do and who I am on social media.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Being honest about who I am, who I want to be, and what I am willing to share with others. I am not afraid to be vulnerable. Make sure to listen first and talk second. Be personable and approachable. Do not ever think you are too good to learn from someone else. The more we are honest and open with ourselves and others is when more beautiful things start to happen. When you do this, then comes customer retention.
