Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Rachel Touchet. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Rachel thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Do you manage your own social media?
I have personally managed our social media platforms since the day we opened. I chose this for two reasons, (1) Because as a self funded startup, we have to be wise on what we spend on and this is one area I can manage even on the go.
(2) I believe it’s crucial that I make the right impression while getting established and I did not want to outsource marketing or sales because no one will feel more strongly about presenting R&R Resolute Staffing than Rebekah or myself.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
R&R Resolute Staffing Firm is a women owned employment agency focused on contract, contract-to-permanent, & direct hire positions. We’re becoming the employer’s preferred Recruitment Agency and a pillar of the community, by providing opportunities and resources to the greater Greenville area! We treat each partner’s company as if it were our own, with an unwavering commitment to support you in expanding your teams.
I started my recruiting career in March of 2015 as an entry-level recruiter who had never even heard of staffing agencies. I advanced to a senior recruiter role within my first few years and then I was recruited for an opportunity with a new position as a project manager for over 900 manufacturing employees during the pandemic. In 2021, I accepted a vice president role that led to starting my own agency on August 1st, 2023. I know that each role gave me a crucial perspective. I believe that I am uniquely qualified to help others because of the wealth of knowledge I’ve gathered from each year in this crazy, fun, and frustrating staffing industry.
I am not new to this, I am true to this. I’ve walked a good many manufacturing plants and construction sites in the great state of South Carolina but even more so I’ve hired thousands of people who walk into them daily now. I’ve grown to love this underserved market and I’m committed to helping this community continue to thrive.
There is no shame in honest/hard work. I take great pride in driving on roads that I know my past road crews have built, and seeing products in stores from factories where I’ve placed people.
What truly sets us apart is my staff. I have 100% confidence and trust in my people. They love their community and serve them well. I don’t know many offices that only have minorities for their internal staff. I’ve found that a group of underdogs that have been mistreated by past employers will thrive when they are loved and respected. I often say, I love my people hard and in return they pass that love on to the applicants. It’s true.
I have a rule, if anyone on the team for whatever reason has that sinking Sunday evening dread and doesn’t want to work, you must contact me and let’s talk and I’ll cover for you. I only want people here who want to be here. If you’re here, I need you to give 100% but I also know this is a grind and exhausting or sometimes personal matters are a huge distraction, Internally, we have never had someone no show for work or call out, and I have to beg my people to not come in when sick. That’s how much they love working here, that I have to kick them out for their own good sometimes. The loyalty and joy is unmatched.

Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?
I’m not highly educated and I do not come from wealth. I’ve been working since I was 10 years old and I’ve never been outworked. I’ve given almost everything in exchange for this opportunity.
We were able to get funding (invoice exchange) with an incredible company that only serves the staffing industry (shout out to Networkers Funding) but that doesn’t cover my internal payroll, advertising, or any bills. It costs money to make money so being declined for the SBA loan because I am single and live alone, despite a strong business plan, a history in the industry with strong references, signed contracts, and excellent credit, left me no choice but to do it the hard way. Good thing, I’m built for hard.
The honest answer is true blue bootstrapping. I sold my house, cashed out my 401k, wiped out my savings, and sold most of what I owned. I drove to every atm pulling cash against my credit cards to make payroll for the first couple of months. I have not taken a penny from the business (10 months in) and average 12 to 18 hour days. I am living on prayers at this point.
Additionally, our director of recruiting took a credit line out against her home to bet on me. And months in, we were blessed with a silent investor to help keep us afloat when I thought we couldn’t make it one more week.
Rebekah taking that credit line against her house has ensured that we will be a huge success because that amount of trust and love sparked a fire in me like no other and I’ll die before I let her lose her home. I’m also very committed to seeing my angel investor get rich because the Lord has used him so greatly in my life.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Word of mouth 100%.
Most of my clients are referrals or people who’ve worked with me and advanced and then taken us with them to their next construction company or manufacturing plant.
I have partners, not just clients. Many are now my friends. I’m not shy about asking even new clients to give honest feedback on our performance and to write us a review or make an introduction for me.
I always ask, if I can deliver what you need, we’ll you help me by being a reference, and it’s really that simple. My website and LinkedIn profile show many of these glowing references and give credibility to us.
My advice to a new company without a history in the industry is to take excellent care of your client partners and in return, they’ll brag on you.
