We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Rachel Moore. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Rachel below.
Alright, Rachel thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. If you had a defining moment that you feel really changed the trajectory of your career, we’d love to hear the story and details.
For as long as I can remember I have wanted to be a doctor. The kind of Dr changed over the years but I always knew I wanted to help care for others. My dad had gone to a chiropractor for years but ultimately had to have back surgery. He was never the same after that. Becoming a chiropractor had been in the back of my mind but didn’t become a true possibility until my dad ended up in the hospital with pneumonia. Once he came out, he was on more meds than he went in on and I decided that I didn’t want to do that to people. I wanted to work in a profession that took a deeper look and found ways to treat the body and allow the body to do what God made it capable of and heal itself. Once I made that realization there was no going back. I was going to become a chiropractor!

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am an Aggie, wife, and mom of 2. I have been a chiropractor for 14 years and love every minute of it! I specialize in pregnancy and pediatric care but love seeing all members of the family. I am always trying to find new techniques or programs that will further my knowledge of taking care of these families. I am Webster certified, craniosacral therapy trained, and also an IBCLC (lactation consultant).
One of the major things that sets my practice apart is that I am a chiropractor and IBCLC. This gives me the ability to be a one stop shop for mommas not only during pregnancy but postpartum. One of the biggest things once bay gets here is appointments! There are just so many! Being able to work on baby structurally with chiropractic and craniosacral therapy and then help momma with lactation all at the same time can make that transition of motherhood and breastfeed just a little easier.
Being able to support a mom before, during, and after pregnancy is an amazing thing to be a part of. I am always just a text or call away of a mom needs me or has a question. I do not limit contact to just 8-5. If I am available and near my phone, you will get an answer. I always want my patients to feel loved, seen, and heard. Sometimes all it takes is a you are doing an amazing job to change a patient’s day.

If you could go back, would you choose the same profession, specialty, etc.?
Without a doubt. I am so passionate about chiropractic and what it can do for the body. I have seen some amazing things happen in my office from patients becoming pain free, allowing the body to be balanced so a baby can turn and go head down, to helping a struggling mom before able to breastfeed when they weren’t sure it would happen. I am so blessed to have the job I do and am so thankful for every single patient that has trusted me with their care as well as their family. I think God put me in this profession and wouldn’t want to do anything else.

Other than training/knowledge, what do you think is most helpful for succeeding in your field?
Passion for the profession, empathy, and compassion for your patients. Many times they not only need help but they just need to feel safe and heard. I don’t ever want someone to leave my office and not feel loved. If they do then I didn’t do my job that day. In my office you are never just a number.
