We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Rachel Loague a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Rachel, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Do you take vacations? Why or why not?
For a long time, I would work, work, work non-stop. There was no time to breathe, no time to think…just time to work. After some time, I came to the understanding that I was suffering from burnout. I put my workload to the side and spent a week in Dubai. I didn’t realize how much I had neglected myself to do my overwhelming workload. I didn’t take vacations before, but now I intend on doing it once every three months. It really helps to refresh and recharge your mind, body and soul! Vacations also give your mind well needed rejuvenation so that you can come back with fresh concepts, new ideas and a grounded mind.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Rachel and getting into my industry really came from me starting and stopping several different businesses. At this time, I provide resources, books and tools for individuals who aspire to start and grow their business. I incorporate a series of mental transformation and financial literacy as a starting point for having a top tier business foundation. The biggest thing that I am proud of is knowing that I help individuals launch their dreams!
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
The initial capital for my business was actually funded from my 9-5. I started my business with a book, so in order to publish and copyright my book, I took money out of my paycheck to do so. Sometimes people sleep on the fact that your 9-5 could literally fund your goals and dreams.
Can you share one of your favorite marketing or sales stories?
To tell you the truth, marketing in my industry hasn’t been the easiest thing. In order to sell my first twenty books, I had to think way beyond traditional marketing. Turning my book release into a networking event was all that I needed to flip the switch on my marketing. Creating this event allowed me to sell my first twenty books and create a foundati0n for many more events to come.
