We were lucky to catch up with Rachel Loague recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Rachel thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Coming up with the idea is so exciting, but then comes the hard part – executing. Too often the media ignores the execution part and goes from idea to success, skipping over the nitty, gritty details of executing in the early days. We think that’s a disservice both to the entrepreneurs who built something amazing as well as the public who isn’t getting a realistic picture of what it takes to succeed. So, we’d really appreciate if you could open up about your execution story – how did you go from idea to execution?
The reason why I got into business as an Author and Business Mentor is due to the fact that I seen a lot of people with a problem, but no real solution. If there is one thing I hate, it’s when I call an organization and they give me 25 different departments to go to just to get one answer. The same phenomenon was occurring around me with my friends and associates. A lot of people I knew wanted to start a business, but they had absolutely no clue as to where to start. Sure, we can go to google and find things, but it’s always easier when you have a one-stop shop for something you desperately wish to pursue. After hearing so many lost and confused about the business process, I decided to create a step-by-step book on how to plan, implement and execute your business idea. To take it a step further, I wanted to further extend myself to those who are already operating business to give them that extra push to keep going. Whether they need assistance networking, strategizing or marketing….I like to be that person that can assist with that.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
To make it plain and simple, I assist those who have a business idea but don’t know how to implement it. Also, I provide mentoring services to help the established business owner expand their business. The problem is that you have the business idea in your head and the solution is for me to help you get it out and bring it to fruition.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The most effective strategy so far for me has been networking. Getting out to business expos and networking events has truly expanded my circle on so many levels. Money will come and go, but connections can last longer. When you open yourself up to networking, you give more people and companies the ability to know who you are and how you can work together.
How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
Time management. Time management. Time management. I had to say it three times so you truly understand the emphasis I would like to put on that. As a business owner, you can get caught up doing so many things, but organizing your time appropriately will be your best friend. Set times and deadlines for yourself, hold yourself accountable and do your absolutely best to prompt and timely.
