Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Rachel Lebo. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Rachel, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
It may be simple and over stated, but being nice and engaging will get you everywhere. People want to work with folks that make them feel good and take weight off their shoulders. In a similar vein, I have found that treating everyone like your good friend, at least in the service industry, goes a long way to getting happy clients and good reviews. I work in weddings and I’m there on one of the biggest days of their life. After that experience together we are friends.

Rachel, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m a wedding dj based in St. Louis. I started 5 years ago working for a large company where I learned an incredible amount, It was actually an accidental craigslist job find that turned into a career.
Two years ago I started my own business so that I could work less and really tailor myself to the kind of couples that have a similar vibe and taste as myself.
When I started my own business I added Day of Coordination services. I have seen so many weddings over the years and one of my strongest suits is my organization and planning skills. With djing and coordinating, I have your wedding day handled with ease.
I’m most proud of my ability to really find perfect matches with my couples. I want to make sure that I work with folks who really love the same vibes and music as myself so we mesh easily and everyone feels happy at the end of the day,

Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
Facebook groups in your industry. Last minute makeup artists and photographers are all at the ready incase of a wedding emergency.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Zola! I love that Zola allows me to find clients and pay a small amount to connect with them, unlike cites like Wedding Wire that require you to make long commitments without any guarantees. I know I sounds like an add, but their model works wonders for a business like myself.
