We recently connected with Rachel Latham and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Rachel, thanks for joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
The idea for The V Seal came from a really personal place. I’ve always loved being in the water, but over time I started noticing a pattern — after swimming, I’d often deal with uncomfortable intimate imbalances. Eventually, I found myself saying no to pools, hot tubs, lakes, even in my own bath with the products I love to use, just to avoid the aftermath. It felt frustrating to feel limited in this way, particularly in the context of the sea of options for reactive treatments.
As a health coach, I’ve always been intentional about reducing my exposure to toxins, and chlorine stood out as one that’s often overlooked—especially for women, considering how much we can absorb vaginally. I realized there were no real proactive options out there.
That’s when it clicked: if I was dealing with this, surely other women were too. I thought of my friends who’d shared similar experiences, and I began asking around, only to realize that there are countless other women who can relate to this struggle, and countless others who want to reduce toxin exposure and/or have better swim hygiene. That’s when I knew I had to create something better—not just for me, but for all of us who want to enjoy the water without compromising our health. That’s how The V Seal was born: from a need, a conversation, and a decision to change the narrative around women’s intimate wellness.

Rachel, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
For those who are just getting to know me, I come from a background in holistic health coaching, with a deep focus on how the body’s microbiomes—including the less talked about vaginal and urinary microbiomes—play a critical role in our overall wellbeing. Over the years, I’ve seen how easily these systems can be disrupted, not just by diet or stress, but by everyday toxins we’re exposed to without even thinking—like chlorine in pools, synthetic fragrances in personal care products, or hormone-disrupting chemicals in our environment.
As women, we’re especially sensitive to these exposures, and they can have ripple effects on everything from our cycles to our energy levels, to our mood and immunity. Yet despite this, women’s health is still drastically underfunded, under-researched, and often wrapped in layers of stigma—especially when it comes to intimate wellness.
That disconnect has always frustrated me. I believe our bodies are powerful and wise, and they deserve tools and solutions that reflect that—solutions that are proactive, protective, and rooted in both science and compassion.
That’s really the heart of why I started this business. I wanted to create something that didn’t just patch a problem after the fact, but helped prevent it in the first place. With The V Seal, I’m offering a product designed for women who love the water but are ready for a more hygienic approach. It’s a small but significant tool that gives us back agency—one that acknowledges our anatomy, honors our microbiome, and supports our desire to live fully, without unnecessary compromise.
What sets my work apart is the lens through which I approach wellness: I’m not just thinking about symptoms—I’m thinking about systems. About how one small imbalance can lead to bigger issues down the line, and how with the right support, we can intervene earlier and more gently. I’m proud to be part of a growing movement that’s normalizing conversations around vaginal and hormonal health, and pushing back against the idea that we just have to “deal with it.”
More than anything, I want people to know that this brand is about empowerment. It’s about listening to our bodies, trusting our instincts, and having access to clean, intentional products that are actually made with us in mind. This isn’t just about swim hygiene—it’s about reclaiming wellness on our own terms.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the biggest lessons I had to unlearn was that intimate health is something to be ashamed of.
From a young age, many of us are taught—both directly and indirectly—that anything related to our vaginal health should be kept quiet. Whether it’s through school systems that skip over real education, cultural taboos that make the topic feel “inappropriate,” or even modern digital platforms like Meta that still ban the word vagina—the message is clear: this part of being a woman is something to hide.
Growing up with that kind of messaging, it becomes second nature to stay silent, even when you’re experiencing discomfort, imbalance, or just genuine curiosity. You feel like you’re on your own to figure it out, like it’s your problem to manage in private.
So when I started working on The V Seal, I knew I wasn’t just creating a product—I was stepping into a conversation that’s long been kept in the shadows. And as the face of the brand, that required some real inner recalibration. I had to unlearn years of conditioning around what’s “appropriate” to talk about, and instead lean into honesty, science, and the fact that this is simply a normal, healthy part of womanhood.
Part of our mission at The V Seal is to help break that silence. We want to normalize open, shameless conversations around intimate wellness, and empower women to own this aspect of their health with pride—not fear or embarrassment.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
For us, the best source of new clients has absolutely been word of mouth. There’s something incredibly powerful about a happy customer sharing their experience—especially when the product is as unique and conversation-starting as The V Seal. Because it’s unlike anything else on the market, it naturally sparks curiosity and dialogue.
What’s been amazing to hear about is how often women literally share it on the spot. Since we offer The V Seal in 5- and 10-pack options, it’s common for customers to hand one to a friend right then and there—whether they’re at the pool, the lake, or just chatting about their wellness routines. That kind of organic sharing speaks volumes. It tells me that not only is the product working, but it’s also resonating on a deeper level—enough to inspire someone to bring another woman into the conversation.
Plus, with our “love it or your money back” guarantee, women have no hurdle to make a purchase and try it out.
Word of mouth isn’t just a marketing strategy for us—it’s a reflection of community, trust, and a shared desire to take ownership of our intimate health in a new and empowered way.
