Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Rachel Krull. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Rachel , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Going back to the beginning – how did you come up with the idea in the first place?
During my study of interior design, I noticed a lapse in the market for everyday homeowners to get professional help designing their spaces. I created Monday Morning Interiors to bridge that gap and create a place where accessible and affordable design solutions could be provided.
Our unique e-design platform allows us to meet each client through video chats, walk through their space virtually, and then create a truly one-of-a-kind design for them. Throughout our three years in business, we’ve had the privilege to work on everything from rented studios to manufactured homes to multi-million dollar mansions. We pour the same amount of hard work and creative problem-solving into every single one of our projects.
Rachel , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Our team is passionate about thoughtfully solving your design dilemmas. We have three packages so we can best serve your needs.
Our first package is a virtual consultation. Here, you will jump on a call with a professional designer and we’ll talk through your design obstacles. We’ll offer solutions by drawing up a mood board with specific product recommendations, color palettes, and industry tips & tricks to make your space function and feel how you need it to! We like to call this our quick-fix package.
Our second package is all about that function! This package is focused on creating a seamless layout. The layout package is really popular with people that have large, open-concept floorplans. Our team of professionals will provide measurements, layouts, and furniture size recommendations to create a flawless flow through any space in your home.
The third package is the full service e-design package. This comes with everything you’ll need to re-design your space from top to bottom. Here, we draw your space in rendering software that will provide you with photorealistic images of your completed space. That way, you can see the entire final product before spending a dime! Our team creates a shopping list of all the products (we even try to shop the sales!), and detailed instructions on how to bring your space to life. We provide complete elevation measurements on any cabinetry (this includes built-ins and kitchen cabinets!) that you can take directly to a contractor.

Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
I absolutely love the team we’ve created at Monday Morning Interiors! Although small in numbers, we work hard and really care about our customer base.
Before starting out on my own venture, I worked in the science field, specifically clinical microbiology laboratories. I worked in everything from start-up labs (literally the 10th employee!) to large federal corporations. I gained a lot of insight into what made employees want to show up every day and stay motivated and what made employees start to lose morale. I’ve applied that to my own business, and listen to my employees to learn even more.
Scheduling in time to have one-on-one meetings with employees is vital. Create a space where they feel comfortable to ask questions, air grievances, and request changes. Follow up with their questions and implement their good ideas! Recognize them publically for their accomplishments.
Allowing a healthy work-life balance is key. I am in the business of creating homes so making sure my employees spend time in their own homes relaxing and rejuvenating is so important.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Email lists have been a wonderful tool to stay top of mind. Every Monday I show up in their inbox with sale alerts, design tips, and fun interior DIYs.
Our repeat customers and almost all of our referrals come directly from the email list.
We have all signed up for boring subscription emails, so I try hard to write meaningful and useful content each week. It’s important to me to stay connected to my clients and the email list is a perfect way to talk to them each week.
