We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Rachel Jeanette. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Rachel below.
Rachel, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Do you think your parents have had a meaningful impact on you and your journey?
My parents did an amazing job of letting me try all kinds of sports and extracurricular activities. Although sports was definitely NOT my gift, I did love being active and I think that helped me when I started emerging into the stunt world in film. I am so thankful that on the side of being a working actor, model, and singer at such a young age, they kept me very grounded. They made me do my homework ( and do it well) they kept me busy and creative, and always encouraged me to dream as big as I possibly could.
Rachel, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I started acting, modeling, and singing professionally when I was just ten years old. My parents were so gracious to bring me to shoots, constantly have me in music lessons and even some musical theater, and learning how to grow as much as possible in my craft. I just never really stopped. I think what sets me apart is my strong worth ethic. If there is a role I want, I will do everything to better myself for that role. If it means spending days on end in the gym, taking military classes, dance classes, learning a new instrument, whatever is necessary to book the part. In the same way with my love for music, I believe in constantly growing. I should be becoming better every day in my writing and as a vocalist. I surround myself with people more talented than I that encourage me and motivate me to be the better version of myself.
I am most proud of my recent nomination for four Josie Awards. I was never expecting a nomination for Artist of the Year, and along with the three others, I am so honored to be considered for this award.
I think one thing I would want people to know about me is how much I focus on loving life. I love small moments. I love to just sit by the beach or pool and daydream. I think life can be far more complicated than we make it out to be sometimes.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My biggest goal has always been to make a positive impact on the world around me. Whether that is through music, or my influence in film, I love to remind people that they matter. One of my favorite quotes is to “stop for the one.” You never know what someone else is struggling with, and never be too busy or self important to stop and love your neighbor.
How did you build your audience on social media?
My best advice with social media is to show up and be yourself. Your followers follow you because they want to see the real and authentic you. Be consistent. Don’t be afraid to share the hard or funny parts of life.
