Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Rachel Greenwell . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Rachel , appreciate you joining us today. Coming up with the idea is so exciting, but then comes the hard part – executing. Too often the media ignores the execution part and goes from idea to success, skipping over the nitty, gritty details of executing in the early days. We think that’s a disservice both to the entrepreneurs who built something amazing as well as the public who isn’t getting a realistic picture of what it takes to succeed. So, we’d really appreciate if you could open up about your execution story – how did you go from idea to execution?
I can recall having a feeling on my heart that I was meant to do something BIG – but I didn’t know what. I launched a YouTube channel and made a website based on my childhood nickname Rock-L, because frankly I didn’t know what I was doing or who I was supposed to be. I just knew I needed a platform and space for God to work through me.
I started with one of my hobby’s which was tarot card readings. I did these collective zodiac sign readings and talked about what was going on astrologically as well different things I was learning about healing and psychology. I also did a lot of telling my stories and sharing personal experiences of things I had overcome in the hopes others wouldn’t feel alone and could use the tools I had gained in their own journeys.
YouTube subscribers reached out and began to pay for individual readings. That’s when it became more of a business than a hobby. I will never forget the joy and excitement when one frequent viewer tipped me $100 on top of the $25 cost of the reading. I thought I had surely made it.
Around the time I did these things I had been on a healing journey myself for about 2 years or so. I was recovering from drug addiction, getting treatment for mental illness, and navigating spiritual awakening all at once.
A couple pivotal things happened that led to me going from Rockbottom to BADA*S so to speak to becoming “The Soulful Self Worth CEO”.
1.) I discovered in the process of getting my Master of Consciousness through studying metaphysics that self hate was the spiritual root of addiction.
2.) I had a traumatic moment that made me question if I was entire existence and I discovered just how bad my sense of value as a person relied on other people and outside things.
These 2 moments together made learning everything there was to learn about SELF WORTH and SELF LOVE my mission. Not because I ever thought I would become the expert of it in the coaching field. But because I desperately needed it in order to grow on my own journey.
If self hate was the spiritual root of addiction, self love was the answer. If I questioning my value, self worth was the answer.
I needed it to feel better, to figure out how to live everyday without wanting to die, and to keep walking my walk so I could live up to this big purpose that I KNEW God had for me.
I studied people who I felt like loved themselves. I asked questions. I read articles. I read books. I took everything I learned inside and to my meditations. I took it to the mirror.
I didn’t realize it then but God was walking me through the 4 Rules of Royalty that later became the bones of my book and program.
1. Speak to yourself Royalty-God helped me to discover and develop “The still small voice” that was of divine intelligence and unconditional love that resided within me. I made a commitment to be obedient to THAT voice and no other. I spoke to myself with love the way I would a child 24 hours a day 7 days a week. I did this in my mind. I did this in the mirror. Even when it made me burst into tears to do so. But the tears cleansed the shame that was stored in my soul.
2. Treat yourself like Royalty-I practiced what I learned. I set boundaries. I said no to the things that weren’t serving me and YES to the things that were in alignment with my highest good. I asked for what I needed and accepted and received more support than I had ever let myself have before. Even when it humbled me tremendously to do so. But the abundance of love filled a void in my heart I didn’t even know was there.
3. Carry yourself like Royalty- I learned to crumble in embarrassment and then hold my head up high and laugh it off even in front of hundred of viewers on a Facebook live. I began to walk in any room not just like I owned the place but like God himself sent my a*s there. I moved through the world as if I was decked from head to toe in the finest jewels and designer clothing-when I was really wearing Walmart and Goodwill. The belief in myself connected me to people and opportunities that restored my confidence and pride in myself.
4. Honor yourself like Royalty-I allowed myself to SEE myself. Not the human Rachel…but the divine Rachel. I let myself “go there” to those places that my ego and shame would never let me before. I allowed me to see myself through Gods eyes as this perfect, intelligently crafted creation. The ONE who was worthy of a MASSIVE purpose and 100% HAD the abilities to carry it out. The ONE who could make great movement in the world. The ONE who could create a ripple effect of positive change across the whole globe. The VISION of my fullest potential renewed my connection to source and to all that is.
I used everything I learned along my own personal journey of self love and self worth and I shared it with my audiences. As a psychology student, I wrote about self worth and self love in my papers. As a peer support specialist in the mental health field and did group sessions about it at work. As a newbie life coach I taught it to clients one by one.
I stood in the park one day after a session where I taught the same tools for the thousandth time it seemed. I realized that I was teaching this stuff again and again because it was BIG issue. I saw that self hate is epidemic in our world. It’s a problem effecting all walks of life. All ages, genders, races, socioeconomic status and so on and so forth and I smack in the face realization of it’s enormity.
I prayed to God that day I said something along the lines of “Okay God, I see this is a BIG problem and I see that you’ve given me the solution. If there’s a way to do what I’m doing now BIGGER…..i’m game”
That prayer changed my life forever. Because boy….did God have a way to do it bigger. Two weeks later I walked through my hall and was halted by vision of the book cover of How to Wear a Crown. I saw myself with the crown on and I questioned “a book?” I began to hear the words to the introduction flow through my mind it said:
“Hi, I’m Rachel and I wear a Crown but a literal crown like the one on the cover of this book. What I’m talking about is a metaphysical accessory that I take with me no matter where I go….”
I scrambled for my broken chromebook laptop and wrote every word of that introduction. I sat there stunned and asked God “How am I going to write a book?” and He said “16 and 16…you will write the rough draft in 16 days and final draft in the following 16 weeks you will publish on November 11th the day after your birthday”
Every bit of that message was true. I did just that. 16 and 16 and published on 11/11.
I LIVED this journey.
I did it all for myself and no one else, first. Then I did it for everyone else.
God showed me the way through it and gave me the strength to self publish the book and build the program myself. I didn’t know how they were going to become a reality, but God gave me the vision and the taught me how to love myself fearlessly and relentlessly so I could bring them to life.
In the past when I was going through all the darkness I asked “why me” so many times when I was in the pain. So many times. I didn’t understand what I did to deserve all the bad things. The trauma, the addiction, the mental illness. I didn’t get it.
Now I ask “why me?” when I look around and I see how entirely blessed I am to have this beautiful life that is built upon all that pain.
One of my favorite passages in the Bible comes from Isaiah 61:3 “…to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair”
He will turn your pain into purpose….IF you LET HIM. That’s the kicker. You must let him.
I give all my glory exactly where glory is due. I didn’t do this alone. It was a solo journey, no other human beings…but it was a divine co-creation with God every single step of the way.
Rachel , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I began my career by having a lot of problems. I know that sounds funny…but it’s true. I was just a messed up young woman heavily addicted to drugs and traumatized that wanted to get better. I had a spiritual awakening Oct. 13, 2014 that led me to enter recovery for my ailments. I spent a lot of time alone during this process. I learned to meditate and balance my chakra system. I put my bare feet in the grass and allowed the sun to fill me with healing energy. I sat in chairs of counselors offices each week and poured my heart out. I cried with snot running down my face with women I never met in before in support group circles. I read countless self help books and journaled every night. I cried….a lot. I forgave myself and others. I healed.
I got really good at healing things that are tough to heal thanks to the fact that I had a lot of “hard to heal” problems. I began to share my stories and the things that I had learned to other people in support groups. People gave me feedback that I was really good at helping them. I became known as the person in my town who knew answers to difficult questions and solutions to difficult problems. I became known as someone who can help. I enjoyed helping people. So when someone said “hey my cousin is struggling and I thought maybe you could help her….can you give her a call” I would glady say yes.
I freely gave my services to whoever asked for them as it enriched my life and my own recovery to help others. I realized it was a gift and my passion and began to take it more seriously. I took a job as a peer support specialist in mental health. It was a low paying entry level job…but it paid a tiny bit more than the gas station I was working at and I got to do something I loved so I was happy to take the job.
Somewhere along the lines in my journey I found myself at the Louisville School of Metaphysics and completed a Master of Consciousness Program. I got a lot training in mental health through the peer support position and I also went to school for my psychology degree. But, I had a bigger vision and felt called to a spiritual mission with a large reach and impact. I felt I couldn’t do that within the confines of the mental health organizations.
What I do is help women who are fed up with not living the life of their dreams uplevel in love, health, and wealth. We do do this by knowing our worth and then take back everything we learn and give it to others to create that ripple effect of change in what I call the How to Wear a Crown movement.
My book is called How to Wear a Crown a practical guide to knowing your worth and the program is How to Wear a Crown: uplevel your life in love health and wealth certification program. There are self guided and divinely guided options to work with me and it all comes with the book, workbook, and journal to use as tools for the journey. I like to say that I did all the work so that you don’t have to. It takes my roughly 5 year journey and walks you through it in about a year.
What makes me special is that I’m a Quantum Queen Coach. That means I SEE a woman as the Queen version of herself already and help her to herself as that too..the way God did for me. Quantum healing is so unique because we do a lot of my signature time travel therapy where we throw out the linear time structures and play with other dimensional realities of time and space in our healing processes. We joke that we’re “going on a time machine” like that old movie.
This program is unlike any other. It provides a structured space that guides you so you don’t get lost but it also is designed to let you be our own unique self and go at your own pace. It’s also unique in that you can use it forever. You get the online program login and you have access for life. It’s also cyclical which means that it never ends. Which isn’t supposed to be scary…it’s freeing. You are always just where you are and that’s ok. Once you complete it you go back to the beginning and pick a laser focused area of love health or wealth and continue to build and evolve into the next best version of you and your life.
Which does’t cost a penny more because like I said you get all the tools and the online program so you can go through as many times as you want forever. It also grows in value…i add bonuses and new tools all the time. It only gets better and better and better. There are no limits in our world.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I built my social media following 1 person at a time. That’s how it’s done. It’s real people on the other side of that computer screen and you have to remember that.
Be nice and treat each person like they are the most important person in the world. Because they are. Each follower or subscriber could tell thousands of other people about your business in their life. Thank people and do your best to give them real value.
Nobody likes to be marketed to all day on social. Remember they’re already getting spammed by 20,000 other people all day and it’s your job to show up and give REAL value and be in the energy of what you represent and stand for and trust me they’ll feel that. Then, they’ll come to you and ask you if you have anything to offer.
Once you get a little bigger thousands or more then you may need to change the strategy and provide links and stuff with a post but at first…that is your neighbor, your moms friend, and a coworker watching. And if you haven’t built a reputation yet then you have to make one. It’s all about being consistent and doing what it takes to make people know, like, and trust you.
And in order for you to get that out of anyone else you have to do it for yourself. YOU have to know you. YOU have to like you. YOU have to trust you. If you show up unsure, in the energy of self hate, and your presence is touch and go….then they’ll move on to the next person.
Know that you deserve to have your spot in the light but also be grateful and humbled when people give you their attention, time, energy, and email addresses. It’s a big deal to give those things to someone online.
Treat that with respect and don’t take it for granted.
And also….make your shit look nice. Human psychology says that people will give more attention to the pretty things. So having nice graphics and stuff is important. If you want to be a fisher of men…have a shiny lure.
Can you open up about a time when you had a really close call with the business?
I have had a roller coaster ride of a business story. I have quit work and went full on in my business and then went broke and had to go get a job again. I did this 3, 4, maybe even 5 times. It’s happened a lot.
I have had entire mental breakdowns. Like snot covered, eyes like faucets, ugly crying, can’t breath because I’m crying so hard full on MENTAL BREAKDOWN….just a sobbing mess in my husbands lap explaining to him why i’m so angry at God for making me have to do this big thing that i’m so obviously unqualified for. I’m laughing so hard right now at this story though, I wish you all reading this could see how hilarious is it for me to recall this moment.
Because I was called all along. It was always me. Hindsight 20/20 and God knows things we dont when He puts these big desires on our hearts. And looking back on that moment I think of that common saying “God doesn’t call the qualified…he qualifies the called”. Little did I know that it would all work out, I would make more money in the next few months than I did in a whole entire year in my mental health job, and that I would be running my program at full capacity loving every single second of my life.
Is it a struggle? Yes. sometimes it is. Yes, you f*ck shit up. You do the wrong thing for a client or hire a new employee just to have to let them go because it turns out you can’t afford them. Yes, you think over and that you messed it up to the point of no return and the BOOM there is comes right back like a boomerang.
Then you learn to fix the things in yourself and your business that make it a roller coaster anyway and you learn to smooth out the ride and prevent fires before they catch. You learn to budget your money better or not make that big move yet because you have enough foresight to know you can’t sustain it yet. You hire mentors and quit trying to re-invent the wheel and just let someone help you whose made a hundred thousand wheels before.
You learn to mediate more and work less that way when the problems come (which they will) you’re more equipped to deal with them. You learn to stop attaching your worth and value as a person to your success and you just have so much f*cking fun with every single aspect of your business because THAT’S what you started this thing for anyway right? You didn’t go through hell just to create another 9 to 5 job for yourself and be miserable did you?
You definitely pray more and do more surrendering it all over and just do your 1 little human part of the job. And you DEFINITELY back everything that you do in the energy of divine service and love and try to make the world just a little bit better than it was before you touched it.

Larry Green and Jill Ranae Smith are my amazing friends and photographers who have been of huge support to me. They have served me before I had any kind of a name on social, before I was a published author, and in times of need. I am beyond grateful for their work and dedication to making my website, social media pages, magazine articles, and book covers look professional and helping show up confidently for my purpose each day. Also love to Jill Smith again and also to Sam Ta for the hair and makeup work that helped me feel beautiful and confident to take these gorgeous photos. I don’t know what I would have done without you all along my journey. xo
