We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Rachel Gibler. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Rachel below.
Alright, Rachel thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
Back when I was in my early 20s, I was working 80 hours per week for someone else, burning the candle from both ends, and feeling stuck on a never ending hamster wheel with a lack of deep fulfillment, close relationships, or financial success.
In my years leading up to entering the corporate world, my father passed away suddenly, and it ripped my family apart. I entered an 8 year downward spiral of depression, anxiety, and numbing out on substances and partying.
Finding myself stuck under daily florescent lights didn’t lend it’s way to healing, and I was left feeling like I wasn’t using my story for good. I felt all I had gone through was meant for a greater purpose, and yet I was wasting away my days working for someone else’s dream, disconnected from my true mission.
Until one day, I was in a freak accident that caused me to take 3 months medical leave. It was during this time that I dedicated three months in bed to changing my life — and I found mindset work, self development, and spirituality.
The next 6 years I would embark on a mission to heal my own wounding, and eventually teach others how to overcome their subconscious blocks
and manifesting a life beyond their wildest dreams.
I desired to honor the messiness of the human experience, while creating safe spaces and conversations where people could show up as all of themselves, unapologetically.
This is how my company & podcast, It’s F*cking Spiritual, was born.
Through our podcasts, group programs, and retreats, we help people uncover subconscious patterning and release stored trauma somatically, so they can live a life full of purpose, passion, and freedom.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
We believe there’s a ton of fluffy self-development and manifestation content our there that doesn’t lend it’s way to true healing.
After spending the better part of a decade researching, applying the tools, testing and strategizing we’ve created a process that takes our clients deep into their subconscious blocks and releases stored trauma in the body.
While affirmations, vision boarding, and future script journaling are great tools, we have found that these are not the keys to true, lasting manifestion.
Instead, we use a radical approach to manifesting that is not typically taught in the self-development industry.
Blending a process of nervous system regulation, somatic movement, breathwork, clinical hypnotherapy, and cognitive reframing, we help clients go deep into their psyche to release what’s in the way of who they are truly meant to be.
Our followers can get a taste of what we do by listening to the It’s F*cking Spiritual Podcast. For those that desire to go deeper, we have a self-paced course, Manifestation University, or can provide support in person at our healing retreats.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
The best piece of advice for any business owner wanting to build a following on social media is to focus on showing their personality.
People want to buy from you, not just your brand. They want to know who is behind the business, what you stand for, and how they can see themselves in you. The more you are willing to get messy, be authentic, show the behind the scenes of the process, and be real about the successes and failures, the more you are going to create raving fans that will buy anything you sell.
Also, don’t just focus on followers, focus on the RIGHT followers. Having a smaller audience of people that love what you do and will buy from you is much better than having a larger audience with low engagement that feels indifferent about who you are.
Be as human as possible. People like businesses with heartbeats, so be sure to show your heart, speak to the camera, and connect to your mission so people can feel how much you care about them.
Lastly, include your audience in the creation process! If they can watch your “come-up” and feel that they had a say in your journey (ask them to help you decide on a logo, or the next product, or their opinion on a decision you’re making), they are going to feel much more connected to what you are selling. Again, it will humanize you! A win-win for you and your audience.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
Being someone who creates content online for a living, it was easy to fall into the comparison trap and look at what everyone else was doing.
I would try to look at people who had success before me, and emulate their messaging, offers, or content strategy. Whenever I did this, it always fell flat because my heart wasn’t behind it.
Once I learned to connect to my own mission and voice, and allow that to shine through, my social media and business took off. Once I wasn’t afraid to be polarizing, speak my mind, and share my heart and my human-ness, everything changed and got a lot easier.
