We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Rachel Curtis a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Rachel, thanks for joining us today. Almost all entrepreneurs have had to decide whether to start now or later? There are always pros and cons for waiting and so we’d love to hear what you think about your decision in retrospect. If you could go back in time, would you have started your business sooner, later or at the exact time you started?

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
We offer full service planning to our clients. Some wedding and event planners like to focus on day of management or partial service, but we like to be involved from the beginning, so we focus on full service planning. Full service planning includes helping our clients find a venue for their event, a website for their guests to visit, budget, dress and attire, photographer, videographer, makeup, hair, webcasting, transportation, live bands, Djs, musical entertainment, dance lessons, photo booth, cigar bars, live painters, magicians, decor, catering, bakers, officiants, speciality signs, pre-marital counseling, ice sculptures, favors, pet sitters and so much more.
Our clients are busy and they are not sure where to start with finding the vendors needed to bring their event vision to life. We help remove the stress of planning, finding the right vendors and allow our clients to show up to their big day as a guest. Something that sets us apart is that we get to know our clients and take a genuine interest in them. We make ourselves available when they need help and we try to go the extra mile to anticipate their needs before they are expressed.
We are most proud of our five star reviews because we want every person we work with to have a 5-star experience. We try to be proactive in asking the right questions before the event, so on the day of the event, we don’t have to bother you with small questions.
We want our followers and potential clients to know that if you decide to work with us that your success is very important to us. Our goal is for you to show up to your event as a guest and just enjoy the people that are there to celebrate with you. We put our heart, soul, time and energy into each event and we want all our clients to feel as though they are our only client.

What else should we know about how you took your side hustle and scaled it up into what it is today?
Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
My business team member and I have known each other since childhood. Our mothers were good friends and growing up we went to the same church, attended camps together and would always enjoy seeing each other on the weekends. We grew up together on Long Island and now we live near each other in North Carolina. We are both pretty easy going and calm which is important when we are dealing with last minute changes and obstacles at our events. We work very well together professionally and have a long history of working well together as friends.
