We were lucky to catch up with Rachel Corridean recently and have shared our conversation below.
Rachel, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Do you think your parents have had a meaningful impact on you and your journey?
My parents owned a restaurant while I was growing up, and I watched them pour their time and energy into building their business. They taught me the value of hard work and demonstrated what a strong work ethic truly looks like. At just 13 years old, they gave me the opportunity to work at the restaurant, instilling in me the importance of dedication and loyalty.
Thanks to their influence, I’ve carried those values into my own career. I’ve been with my current job since 2018, my previous job for six years before that, and, of course, my first job was at my parents’ restaurant. I take pride in working hard and staying loyal, and I owe that mindset to the example my parents set for me.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My primary role is as a Senior Project Manager for a luxury residential general contractor, a position that demands a high level of detail and precision in scheduling. This experience has honed my organizational and time-management skills, which seamlessly translate into my second career as a fashion content creator. Staying organized and consistently meeting deadlines has been essential in fostering strong, ongoing relationships with brands.
How did you build your audience on social media?
I highly recommend connecting with others in your desired field. Many people on Instagram are eager to share advice, collaborate, and support one another. The platform fosters a strong sense of community, where people genuinely want to see you succeed just as much as they strive for their own success.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Consistency is key when pursuing a new venture. It’s important to commit fully and stay focused on your goals. While I set specific goals each month, I reassess and adjust if I don’t achieve them. Instead of getting discouraged, I focus on staying present and actively engaged with my platform. This approach has opened the door to incredible brand opportunities.
