We recently connected with Rachel Brooks and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Rachel, thanks for joining us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
I started The Confident Woman because of my own personal struggles. I spent years wrestling with body dysmorphia, eating disorders, and issues with self-image and self-esteem. I faced that battle every day and eventually realized that many women do the same thing. They bog themselves down with self-doubt and set themselves up for failure by trying to be perfect.
I shared my struggles in my book, “Chasing Perfection: A Journey to Healing, Fitness, and Self-Love.” Through my personal journey in the book, my healing, my new appreciation for fitness, and learning to love myself, I found how important it is to empower women to leave behind what’s holding them back. My story is like many other women’s stories who are waiting for a change.
Thinking about my own experiences, I turned my fears, failures, setbacks, and tough times into lessons that could inspire and encourage women. I wanted to empower women to create lasting change and become their best and most confident selves. This is how The Confident Woman started. It’s more than a brand. It’s a toolkit, a guide for personal transformation, a light leading to self-love and acceptance.
Being “The Confident Woman” isn’t about fitting into the world’s idea of what a woman should be. It’s about finding our power and spirit and becoming confident. It’s about becoming the woman we were meant to be. We’re all the authors of our story. We have the power to start new chapters, edit old ones, and tell our story, not based on unreachable perfection but on our worthiness, acceptance, personal growth, and self-love.
In the end, being “The Confident Woman” isn’t a destination; it’s a way of being. It’s about ‘becoming’ something. It’s about realizing that she has been there within us all along.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
One of the pivotal moments in my life deeply illustrates my resilience. A moment where I transitioned from setbacks to comebacks, reclaiming my life after extreme losses.
When life dealt me a devastating blow, I was faced with two options: to surrender to despair or to use this setback as a stepping stone. I chose the latter. The inevitable pain of loss made me realize one crucial thing: there were elements in life beyond my control. It took a lot of inner strength to let go of the reins, embrace the uncertainty, and surrender to the ebb and flow of life’s circumstances.
I realized life is happening for me, not to me. This shift in perspective was transformative. I was no longer the victim but a victor, turning adversity into an opportunity to lean into the unknown.
Every moment of despair was a test of my resilience, and every moment of recovery was a testament to my unwavering spirit. I learned that setbacks didn’t define me. Instead, my response to them did. My resilience was a force majeure, a compelling narrative of my personal journey.
But, at the heart of it all, I found empowerment. I realized that I wasn’t just a character in a story but the author. I had the power to create my own story, to shape my narrative, and guide my future.
This story is about more than resilience; it’s about transformation. It demonstrates the power of the human spirit—our willingness and ability to overcome challenges and setbacks, even when everything appears lost.
Learn to embrace your story, remember that you are the creator, and hold the pen to write it. Use resilience as a way of inspiring others on their own journey toward self-love, empowerment—and happiness!
Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
The Bible – it’s not just religious text; it’s a guide for life. Through a love of self, others, and Jesus Christ—through relationships built on faith and personal integrity—I have learned what is most important: love. The golden rule—”treat others as you would treat yourself”—is my constant reminder that how I interact with people makes all the difference in their lives
The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz – This enlightening book made me see the chains I had unwittingly put on myself and how I was my biggest hurdle. It revealed how my mistreatment of myself and lack of self-love inadvertently influenced my life. It’s been instrumental in my journey toward self-love and personal development.
The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle – Reading this made me realize the profound impact of being present. It taught me to recognize when I am in re(action), reacting to old patterns and beliefs versus tuning into my knowing—my personal power and wisdom. Being more in the present helped me understand myself better and brought clarity to my entrepreneurial journey.
The Gap and the Gain by Dr. Benjamin Hardy and Dan Sullivan – This book is a game-changer. It serves as a guide to leading a fulfilling life, achieving happiness, gaining confidence, and finding success. Importantly, it taught me the value of recognizing and celebrating personal progress, of realizing that the journey towards our goals is just as important as the goals themselves.
These books have greatly impacted my personal and professional growth, shaping my philosophies and empowering me to push through barriers and emerge stronger. They are invaluable lessons I carry, and I hope they inspire others throughout their journey of self-discovery and growth.
