We were lucky to catch up with Rachel Boggs recently and have shared our conversation below.

Rachel, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea

Meilyn Originals started from an idea when I was around 8 years old. My aunt and I came up with my business name. Her middle name was Lyn. My Chinese name when I was adopted was Mei. I am very grateful for my family and friends with all of the love and support encouraging bc me from the start.

As I grew up, art and design have impacted my work greatly. My desire to create was growing from drawing, painting, sculpting, etc. I grew more curious about Fashion design and it felt like a calling in life.

The idea is constantly evolving and this year I am launching my first collection which is a Spring Summer 2025 Coastal Resort Collection inspired by Psalms 139:14. I wanted to create a reflection that we are beautifully and wonderfully made. It is purposely designed for women to embrace their natural beauty and shape while having a feminine youthful style for spring and summer.

Rachel, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

At Meilyn Originals, we are a womenswear company that is faith based and releases creative collections. For Spring/Summer 2025, it is a coastal resort collection. We are purposely driven to be uniquely made and naturally beautiful.
We offer different styles of looks for different bodies. Most looks are adjustable and comfortable for special occasions.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

When I attended SCAD in Savannah, I was class of 2022. It was the year I created the collection Modern Rococo. It was an athleisure and feminine inspired collection. From start to finish it required a lot of discipline and resilience to keep moving forward no matter how difficult it may seem. It was a blessing to create this collection and meet all my deadlines.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?

My opportunities for individual clients such as a wedding dress and accessories and a prom dress allowed me to work with the clients one on one to created their desired garments. I plan to have an official launch party and have trunk shows at family and friends homes in different areas. I have also reached out to many businesses that were open to have pop-ups. I feel collaboration helps businesses and are opportunities to meet new people! Reputation I feel comes with time and building my business on faith in God.
