Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Rachel Adina Mullen. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Rachel Adina, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
The most meaningful project I’ve worked on as of today, is writing my cookbook, Vegan Flavors of the World. This project allowed me to bring together my passions for plant-based cooking, cultural exploration, and creative storytelling in one place.
The idea for the cookbook began as a collection of notes and recipes from my travels, where I experienced the diverse flavors and techniques of different cuisines firsthand. I wanted to showcase how plant-based ingredients could honor traditional dishes without losing their cultural essence. The recipes came to life through my travels and my passion for recreating traditional dishes in a plant-based way that stays true to the originals. Each recipe tells a story, inspired by the cultures I’ve encountered and my personal discoveries around the world.
The cookbook is meaningful to me because it’s more than just a collection of recipes; it’s an invitation for others to explore and connect with different cultures through food. Seeing the positive response from readers who’ve embraced these global flavors, and hearing about the joy these dishes bring to their own tables, has been incredibly fulfilling. This project taught me the power of food as a bridge and deepened my commitment to sustainable, plant-based cooking.

Rachel Adina, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Chef Rachel Adina Mullen, and I’m a chef, cookbook author, TV Cooking show host, and culinary artist specializing in plant-based cuisine. My journey into plant-based cooking started with my love for experimenting in the kitchen and grew through my travels, where I learned about different culinary traditions and flavors around the world. Experiencing diverse cuisines firsthand inspired me to create plant-based recipes that honor the cultural essence of each dish while offering an alternative that’s accessible to everyone.
Through my cookbook Vegan Flavors of the World and my TV show Global Vegan Kitchen with Chef Adina on EatThisTV, I aim to inspire people to embrace plant-based cooking in a way that is inclusive, approachable, and globally inspired. I offer a variety of services, from hands-on cooking classes and recipe development to hosting private dinners, each designed to make plant-based cooking more flavorful and enjoyable.
What sets my work apart is my commitment to authenticity—I recreate traditional recipes using plant-based ingredients while respecting the original flavors and techniques. My goal is to make plant-based cuisine appealing to all eaters, whether vegan or not, by showing them just how satisfying and diverse it can be.
The feedback I receive from clients and readers who have tried my recipes and found them easy to make and delicious is something I’m incredibly proud of. For me, it’s not only about cooking but about building bridges across cultures, one recipe at a time.
I want my readers, clients, and followers to know that when they engage with my work, they’re getting more than just a recipe—they’re experiencing a part of the world on a plate, crafted with care and respect for its origins.

For me, the most rewarding aspect of being a creative is the ability to inspire and connect with others through my work. Crafting plant-based recipes inspired by global flavors allows me to share parts of the world that have deeply moved me, and to bridge cultural divides in a meaningful, universal way. Hearing from readers or clients who have tried my recipes, learned something new, or felt closer to another culture brings immense fulfillment. It’s a privilege to create something that not only nourishes but also sparks curiosity, conversation, and community. Knowing that my work can open people’s minds and encourage them to try something different or explore new flavors is a powerful and humbling experience.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
One story that illustrates my resilience is the journey of creating my cookbook, Vegan Flavors of the World. As I set out to write this book, I was balancing the demands of running a culinary business, traveling for inspiration, and keeping up with my work in recipe development and cooking classes. At times, it felt overwhelming. There were moments when sourcing authentic ingredients and perfecting each recipe felt impossible, especially when I wanted each dish to stay true to its origins while being plant-based.
This experience taught me that resilience isn’t about immediate success but rather persistence and finding new ways to overcome obstacles. I was reminded that my passion for bringing these flavors to others was greater than any setback, and that kept me going.
