Rachael, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
My husband and I started our photo booth business in Atlanta, GA, driven by a blend of personal experience, observation and an entrepreneurial spirit. It all started at an event where we encountered the delight and excitement a photo booth could evoke.
As we witnessed guest flocking to the photo booth, laughing, dancing, posing and creating beautiful memories, we couldn’t resist joining in. We instantly feel in love with it! The photo booth was so engaging and fun, it offers various options from photos to videos, GIFs or boomerang, all delivered instantly.
Seeing the happiness and joy on everyones faces was priceless and in that moment we envisioned a business centered around this concept. It wasn’t just the fun and excitement that draw us in, it was also the untapped potential we saw in the industry.
The logic behind our enthusiasm and drive was multifaceted. First, we understood that people are always looking for ways to make their event memorable and a photo booth offers exactly that, there’s a growing demand for it. Secondly, there’s a huge potential for scalability and profitability by offering a service that could be easily transported and setup with low overhead cost and high demand. We saw a business model with promising returns.
We saw an opportunity to offer something different – a sleek, modern, customizable photo booth experience that could be tailored to each client’s preferences. We saw endless opportunities to innovate and delight customers.
The best part was we get to create something of our own – to build a business that combined our passion for technology, design, and creating memorable experiences. In the end, it wasn’t just about filling a gap in the market, it was about pursuing a vision into reality.
In retrospect, we cherish that pivotal moment at the event we attended – it ignited a journey toward entrepreneurship and creative fulfillment.

My name is Rachael, and I am the co-owner of Ray Luxe Booth, we are a photo booth rental comp[any based in Atlanta, GA. We offer both digital photo booth and 360 booth. My journey into the photo booth industry began with a passion for creating memorable experiences and a keen eye for innovation. We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
A lesson I had to unlearn in my photo booth business was the belief that perfection is always attainable. Early on, I found myself striving for flawless execution in every aspect of our service, from equipment setup to customer interactions. However, I soon realized that aiming for perfection at all times was not only unrealistic but also counterproductive. The backstory to this realization came from a series of events where despite meticulous planning and preparation, unforeseen challenges arose during events. Instead of viewing these hiccups as failures, I began to see them as valuable learning opportunities. Embracing the idea that imperfection is a natural part of any business allowed me to adopt a more flexible and resilient approach. I learned to prioritize adaptability, problem-solving, and maintaining a positive attitude in the face of setbacks. This shift in mindset ultimately strengthened our business by enabling us to navigate challenges more effectively and deliver exceptional service even in less than ideal circumstances.
Any advice for managing a team?
In managing a team and fostering high morale within our photo booth business, communication stands as the cornerstone. Clear and transparent communication channels ensure that each team member understands their role, expectations, and the overall direction of the company. Moreover, we prioritize creating a positive work environment where collaboration, appreciation, and growth opportunities are abundant. Recognizing and celebrating achievements, providing regular training and development opportunities, and promoting a culture of support and teamwork are essential. Additionally, addressing any conflicts or issues promptly and fairly, while actively seeking and implementing feedback, contributes to maintaining a motivated and engaged workforce. Ultimately, setting clear expectations and prioritizing the well-being and professional development of our team, we cultivate an environment where morale remains high and our collective success is realized.
