We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Rachael Juarez. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Rachael below.
Rachael, appreciate you joining us today. What’s the best or worst investment you’ve made?
This answer may seem unconventional; however, the best investment we ever made was in our three sons! Having them on our team has paid out exponentially in many different ways. Each of them having different gifts and talents to bring to the table (tech support, farming expertise, marketing skills) has been rewarding to watch and so beneficial for growing our business.
The worst investment we ever made was paying for an ad in our local coupon pamphlet. It did not pay out as we had expected. But, we lived and learned!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a 52 year old woman, mother of 6, grandmother of 2 and married for 31 years to the man of my dreams. We live in Central Oregon on 57 acres of land and thoroughly enjoy the country living. Over the years, I have discovered that I have a passion for helping people and making others feel loved and cared for. Fast forward to 2018, we decided to become hemp farmers. Our 3 sons were along for the ride and joined our team. What a blessing to have a family business and have each of our sons work in their area of expertise. Our dream of making it ‘big’ with selling industrial hemp wholesale was held back due to the flooding of the market. However, we quickly pivoted and made the decision as a family to convert our flower into CBD and generate CBD products to sell online to retail customers. We still kept our award winning hemp flower to compliment our CBD products and through our sons ingenuity, we launched an online store and stayed in the game! I worked hard for a few months coming up with blends for balms and tinctures that would ‘help’ people with their pain, anxiety, stress, sleep and immunity. What a joy it was for me to know I could actually put something into another persons hands that would help aid in their mental and physical well being. I started doing Pop-up shows and Makers Markets around town. We created a brand, generated swag and upped our game on social media. Our mission was to make CBD products affordable and accessible to everyone in the country. We offer free delivery for our local customers and free shipping on orders over $75. Our prices are very competitive and reasonable for the high quality we place into our products. As we explored ways to continue to expand our product line, I started to make dog products. We have a Springer Spaniel who is quite anxious and active and we discovered CBD is safe for most dogs and is just as beneficial for the same reasons their owners use it. We also offer dog treats as well. Knowing I can also bring comfort to our four-legged family members if even more fulfilling.
Last fall we also launched our hemp/CBD tea blends, Buenos Dias for the morning and Buenas Noches for the evenings. They are another way to utilize CBD and take advantage of it’s benefits. I am always thinking about more ways we can leverage the power of this plan to help people.
For me, the thing I enjoy most about our business is when I hear our customers share stories of how much our products are helping them feel better. I also enjoy getting to talk to people, face to face, email or by phone. Interacting and listening to their stories makes me feel like I am making a difference for them.

How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
One of the ways we stay in touch with our clients and to foster brand loyalty is to continue to have coupons, referral benefits, sales, newsletters and we do free local deliveries. On our website when someone makes a purchase, there is a place for them to say who referred them. We will then send out a discount code to that person and thank them for the referral. As customers shop with us, they can also sign up for our newsletter and receive 15% off their same day purchase. Our goal is make our products affordable and easy to access.
Another way we stay in touch with our clients is to let them know that they help us support non-profits that we’ve partnered with. We donate monthly to an organization that helps underprivileged kids in Vista, California get an opportunity to be trained in self defense through boxing and join a safe community of other young kids. Be sure to follow them at Vistaboxingclub1904 on Instagram. We also support an organization called Pink Warrior Advocates. This organization comes alongside those who have been diagnosed with breast cancer and advocate for them. Please look them up at www.Pinkwarrioradvocates.org

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
One of the best sources of new clients I have found, is in and around the pet world. As I interact and talk with pet owners, a lot of them will spend as much money as needed to help their dogs feel their best, especially when they have access to natural alternatives. With our CBD pet products, they find that it can help relax their anxious pet, help with increasing apatite, helps with mobility by alleviating pain due to age and arthritis and can help with much needed sleep. Referrals are always a good source as well as leveraging Google PPC for marketing.
