Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to RAC. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
RAC, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Are you happier as a creative? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job? Can you talk to us about how you think through these emotions?
Mostly when I’m having artistic blockage of trouble finding where to show my art I question myself if I choose wisely, if having a daily 8hrs job with a paycheck at the end of the week could be better than non stop working and no weekly paycheck. But honestly, I’ve learn to appreciate my self, my time and my spaces as a creative. Owning your time and person is priceless. It is a long journey to establish yourself as a professional artist, but the process and the achievements are more and more satisfying as time goes by.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
The exploration of materials is something very present in my work; I incorporates everyday and pictorial elements to raise awareness of time, presence and state of the forgotten and inhabited habitat. I seeks a dialogue between body, space, mind and art/object. Everything comes from the gesture of painting and expands through sculptures, installations and garments to occupy and rescue the space. I currently lives and produces in Tijuana and own RACRACRAC, a brand of utilitarian art.

How did you build your audience on social media?
Social media is all about being present. Sharing processes, personal details of daily life. It’s practically sharing your lifestyle mixed with your artistic processes and final pieces. I’m very careful with that, that’s why I made 3 different instagrams, for example, the personal one where I share EVERYTHING and the other two are clean portfolios, one of my pictorial projects and another one of my clothing brand.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Getting to know myself by digging into my head every time I make a piece
