We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Quonda Renee. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Quonda below.
Quonda , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
My company was birthed in one of the hardest seasons of my life. I was broke, busted, disgusted, sleeping on my parents couch, I had 3 degrees and couldnt find a job. So I have always been a woman of faith, so I decided to go on a fast and increase my prayer time. During that time of fasting and praying I was led to start a Facebook page upon me starting the Facebook page that night I had 10,000 followers and by day 9 100,000 followers. I knew this was miraculous, only something that God could do because I have no money, no connections, I didnt even fully understand what I was doing but I was doing it. Soon after my Facebook page turned into a business. My mission has always been to help The Gospel of Jesus Christ get out through media.
Quonda , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am a digita media network owner, I help bring exposure to Christian content. I’m proud of how I started in business, I didnt even realize what I was doing would become a business. I think hard times teach us how to step out on faith and work our gifts. My platform helps entrepreneurs, pastors, brands get more exposure to their messages.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
2020, I like to call the year of PIVOT. When I first started my company in 2017, life was different, attention span was different, we as a people were different. When the pandemic hit, my business exploded because people were at home and content was being watched like never before. I had way more clients than I was able to handle so I had to learn how to scale up, I had to learn offer more services to accomodate the demand. It was one of the best moments in business.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Video content is like 90% of what I post and I was doing this before it was really popular. I also learned that people’s attention span is short so you have to create short form content that provides a solution. For anyone starting out 1: Know Your Audience 2. Speak to their pain points 3. Create short form video content 4. Stay consistency 4. Pay attention- if you see a social media platform promoting reels or certain type of content jump on board and create that type of content because that’s what the platforms will push.
