We recently connected with Quinn Patrick and have shared our conversation below.
Quinn, appreciate you joining us today. So, let’s start with trends – what are some of the largest or more impactful trends you are seeing in the industry?
We are seeing people wanting Mocktails or at least Mocktail Options. More and more people are wanting to have a dry wedding, but still want a fun bar experience. We have horse trailer, that we converted into a bar, it’s a fun attraction and an instagramable moment. People still want those moments but don’t want to serve alcohol. We come up with mocktail options, people still come to the bar, we shake their drink and add pretty garnishes. So people aren’t just drinking water, tea or lemonade.
Quinn, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
We are a family owned and operated business, it’s me Quinn, my husband Joe and our daughter Jordan. I’ve always wanted to get into the event industry and just didn’t know how. Jordan has been a bartender for years and Joe has had food trucks, so he knows the mobile life. I pitched the idea of a trailer bar, that I had seen on Pinterest, and everyone was on board. Then covid hit. Joe was off work for a while, so he went to look a trailer, we bought it and he started redesigning it and building it to fit our needs. The next thing you know, we have a full fledge business. We started with an outdoor neighborhood event, and off we went from there. We work hard to build relationships with our clients and the venues, we love creating cocktails that fit their style and taste delicious. We are proud to have grown this business from a little idea of a side hustle to now doing weddings, corporate events and cocktail classes. We started this business with very little money, we keep working hard, investing back into the business and putting in a lot of effort to grow. We are proud we didn’t go into debt to get this business off the ground. We will continue to build relationships, invest back into ourselves and the business and make amazing drinks.
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
We bought a horse trailer for $700. We invested $1500 to get it from a horse trailer to something people would want to come up to and get a drink from. We used our own money at first to get ice chests, bar gear and anything we needed to make a cocktail. We started putting our business out there on IG and people loved the idea and wanted it for their event. So every event we did, we worked it and reinvested into the company. Tried to keep our expenses as low as possible, not paying ourselves and eventually saved up enough to buy another trailer.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Our best source of new clients is social media. We have a service that is a fun instagramable moment, so we take advantage of that. We do styled shoots, for quality social content. But we also have to provide good customer service and good cocktails, so we have a big referral client base too. You treat people well and do what you say your going to do and they will refer business your way.
