Quindra , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
My mission behind my company is to show other young male /female entrepreneurs that you can too ! Never let anyone tell you can’t because you don’t have any college degrees like the traditional people would want you to have .Try again as many times as you need , use your resources it’s here for a reason . This is so meaningful to me reason being is I didn’t go to college. I felt like college wasn’t for me so why waste money. I wanted to step outside that traditional box . And I did the road has been long but I’m getting there ! And will continue to learn , grow and inspire others as well !

My name is Quindra Shipman -Gaines . This opportunity actually kinda fell into my lap so, I braided my daughter hair one day ,and decided to post it right after . Well after I started getting messages asking if I could braid their kids hair . From there my journey of being a braider started . so I started researching / studying styles that were popular at the time to make sure I knew how to do it . now mind you when I started I only knew how to do simple styles lol . But I studied/ practiced and by no time I took off . Along with word of mouth . I think what sets me apart from others is my personality. I’m a empath so I feel alot of what others feel . If they’re feeling down when they sit in my chair best believe their whole mood is gonna change. And genuinely care .
I’m proud of how far I have come from leaving a 9to 5 and now running my own business . it’s just like have a new baby tender love and care and I pour that into my business and my clients have seen it first hand. I’m claiming to be a celebrity stylist but also still cater to my loyal clients 😘 .
I have also started my line of hair growth products Mother Earth hair butter , royal mist , & it’s all natural thats guaranteed to grow your hair .
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The best source I would say word of mouth! I’ve gotten so many clients by just seeing someone else hair I did .
Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
It started out with just texting. But now I’m on the Booksy app !! To help send out reminders , emails. Or to even invite new clients to join the team . Online booking does it all, it helps with work – life balance.
