Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Quincy Gainous. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Quincy thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
As I’ve grown in my work, most of my learning has come from watching others, studying the craft, and practicing nonstop. Every project teaches me something new, whether it’s from my own mistakes or from seeing how other creatives move. If I could’ve sped up the process, I would’ve started experimenting way earlier and put myself in more rooms with people who were better than me.
The most important skills for me have been discipline, creativity, and the ability to adapt. You can’t get comfortable, every win should push you to level up. I always tell myself, “Go bigger, do better,” because staying in the same place too long slows you down. The biggest obstacles were access, opportunity, and figuring things out with no team, but those challenges forced me to grind harder and sharpen my vision.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I got my start in modeling at 16 when I walked my first show with Florida Men’s Fashion Week. That moment pretty much opened the door for everything I do now. Since then, I’ve grown a lot, both as a model and as a person. The journey’s definitely had its ups and downs, but I learned early on that keeping my head up and staying locked in is what really pushes me forward. At the end of the day, I’m the one in control of my future, so I move like it. I want potential collaborators and supporters to know that I’m dedicated to quality.
What I’m most proud of is how far I’ve come with no big team behind me. Every step has been self-made, and I’m building something real from the ground up. My brand is about ambition, discipline, and turning creativity into something powerful. And I’m nowhere near done yet.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I wouldn’t say I have a huge social media presence yet, but everything I’ve built so far has come from experimenting and switching things up. I don’t like to box myself into one style. I create content that lets me try new ideas, learn new skills, and show people the range I have. For me, it’s not just about posting, it’s about growing! Every video or photo is a way to level up from the last one.
My biggest advice for anyone starting out is: don’t get stuck doing the exact same thing over and over. Find your placement, learn what makes your style stand out, and don’t be scared to evolve. Consistency matters, but improvement matters more. Focus on making each piece of content better than your last, and people will naturally start paying attention. Trust.

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
Definitely. As I’ve grown my brand, I’ve leaned on a lot of resources to help shape the way I think about marketing, management, and entrepreneurship. Every time I study something new, whether it’s a video, an article, or a business breakdown, it gives me another angle on how to present myself and run my brand in a smarter way. All of that has helped me understand the industry better and figure out how to use my skills to the best of my ability.
I also have to give credit to what I’ve learned in school. The curriculum, especially the 3DE by Junior Achievement program, played a huge role in developing my marketing and business management skills. That program really helped me understand how the business world works, and I’ve been able to take those lessons and apply them directly to my brand and the way I move professionally.
