Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Quiana LeCount. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Quiana, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you tell us a bit about who your hero is and the influence they’ve had on you?
The person I consider my hero is my mother, Diane McCray. My mom has been there for me through thick and thin and she’s never left my side, not once. I wouldn’t know where I’d be in life today if I didn’t have her. She has brought me into this world and has done nothing but love me unconditionally and I am forever thankful for everything she does and has done for me. could . She is the most humble, loving, and caring person I know and for that reason she is my hero. My mother is the person who taught me to cook and bake. I remember being in the kitchen with her for holidays helping her cook a big dinner for the family.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I have always love to bake and experiment in the kitchen. My husband always said I should sell the items I bake. I started baking desserts for one of my good friends and she said the same thing my husband was saying. So I decided that for the Thanksgiving I would post several cakes I bake and take orders to see where it would go. From there it took off and QT’s Desserts was born.
I offer several different desserts: lemon poundcake, chocolate poundcake, key lime poundcake, sweet potato poundcake, strawberry crunch cake, strawberry lemonade cake, strawberry cake, different flavored cheesecakes, different flavor cheesecake waffle cones, banana pudding, strawberry shortcake, etc. That’s just naming a few.
I want all my clients and potential clients to know I put a lot of love and take pride in everything I bake.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The two most effective strategies that work for my growing clientele are social media (Instagram and Facebook), and word of mouth. I noticed that when a client post their cakes people comment on them to see where they got it from and how they taste,
How did you build your audience on social media?
Majority of my clients were built from social media. You have to make sure your cakes meet your audience by sharing and continuing to post. Make sure you answer all questions in a timely manner, You have to keep your audience interested in what you’re doing.
