We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Quenton Thomas a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Quenton , appreciate you joining us today. So, let’s start with trends – what are some of the largest or more impactful trends you are seeing in the industry?
One of the biggest trends I see in video production is a shift from traditional long-form video to more short-form straight-to-the-point video content. Traditionally, if you were a business and wanted to advertise your services, you would use legacy media like direct mail or the yellow pages. You would take the TV or radio advertising route if you had an excellent budget. However, times have changed. The most effective way to advertise your essential services is through social media—particle video content. Now businesses can reach thousands of people by posting one video, which has never been possible. We have gone from producing commercials for TV networks to TV and Social media campaigns. One polished video with the right message can be cut to fit several different platforms for different demographics of people.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Our pride in being very personable is the biggest thing that helps build our reputation. We create content that captures the essence of our client’s business. That being said, we do our homework to discover their core values and what sets them apart from the rest. We do this by visiting the business to experience it from a customer’s perspective. If your company has a complex process, we find cool and easy-to-understand ways to communicate that through video. We leave your customers well-educated about your company before entering your establishment.


What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
Right now, we have a pretty wide net. We do several things, such as click funnels and stay active on social media so people can see our work. Although we are a production company, we also post on freelance sites like Production Hub and Thumbtack, but the best has to be good old Google search which generates about 80% of our good-quality leads.
