Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Quentin “QueuebeaTs” Sims. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Quentin “QueuebeaTs” thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Looking back at the decisions you made early in your career, particularly whether to join a firm or start your own, do you feel you made the right choice for that stage of your career?
I started out as a rapper back in elementary school and just kept at my craft until I caught the attention of some people who were instrumental in making sure I developed my own sound.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
As a recording artist growing up in the 90’s who couldn’t afford to get beats my group members and I learned how to make beats on our own. We got the money up for equipment and learned how to put tracks together. I’m most proud of the record my company Xtra Ink being apart of the Bo Legs Documentary “An Atlanta Story” about the late great Marvin Arrington.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
By creating good products and being fair about the value of your good product you will create a great reputation for service and fairness and grow your clientele. Most of my beat sales come from word of mouth.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
After losing my mom I thought about stopping music but I remember what she told me on her deathbed and I’m going to continue creating music until I can’t anymore.
