We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Quentin Moses a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Quentin, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Was there an experience or lesson you learned at a previous job that’s benefited your career afterwards?
I worked on Wall Street from 1980 until 1999. When the stock marketed crashed in 1987 there were no IPO (initial Public Offering) for a year. The firm I was with specialized in IPO’s and I had no business for a year. That taught me the importance of diversification..
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I graduated from Atlantic City High School 1969. Then attended and graduated from Rutgers the state University of New Jersey. then entered and completed Pre-Clinical training at College of Medicine New Jersey I ran a successful nutritional company and as a result of my sales ability was recruited to Wall Street and had a successful Wall Street career in New York City from 1979 until 1999 with Merrill Lynch, Lehman Brothers and Americorp Securities.
I enjoy Fine Art, Hiking, Hot Yoga, Barre, reading, taking new courses of study and improving my current knowledge.
.
I use strategies that are best suited for my clients, saving them money on health insurance. The last 15 years has given me experience consulting individuals (under 65) and over 65 ( Medicare) and Businesses with their Group Health Plans. My goal is to help my clients live “longer and better”. If you are an individual or family, I can show you how you might cut your premiums by 50% or more. I am very good at showing Small Business owners with two to 50 full time W-2 employees and want to offer Small Group how to save money. 95% of the time I can reduce Small Group Medial Premiums 30-60% all year long using self-funded Plans.
Have you ever had to pivot?
I ran a direct marketing Nutrition Business in the late 1070’s. Pharmaceutical companies began to sell a competing product that need a prescription to use. It was know as “liquid protein” and it made a lot of people sick. Our product was made from soy and mixed with milk. The media did not distinguish the difference and the “liquid protein” catastrophe destroyed our business overnight. I grew sales very rapidly and as a result was recruited to Wall Street in 1980 and had much success.
