We recently connected with Quentin Moore and have shared our conversation below.
Quentin, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Was there an experience or lesson you learned at a previous job that’s benefited your career afterwards?
This is not directly related to my music career but it was a life lesson I took with me forever. I ran track in Middle and High School, and I use to love to watch all the exciting races while still preparing for mine. One day, my coach pulled me aside and asked me, “What is more important to you, being a SPECTATOR or a PARTICIPATOR?” I obviously said I value being a participant more than being a spectator! LOL! He told me I need to be preparing for my races instead of watching others run. That stuck with me forever. Often, we get caught up watching the accomplishments and progress of others, instead of working on our own goals. From that point on, I made it a point to ALWAYS focus on and run “My Own Race”. It was something I always carried with me to stay focused on my dreams and goals.

Quentin, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Quentin Moore, and Im an Artist / Musician from Austin, TX. Ive been full time for over a decade now and Ive got to perform in over 30 countries across the world and collab / share the stage with many artists such as Snoop Dogg, Babyface, Anthony Hamilton, Gary Clark Jr. and many more! Its a blessing to be able to sing and write my songs for thousands across the world. I never knew as a kid I would grow up to be a Singer / Musician. My focus was always sports! I wanted to particularly goto the the NFL. I played a year of football at The University of North Texas until music stole my heart. In 2003 I saw, now good friends of mine, Carmen Rodgers and Gordon Pope perform at a Juneteenth Festival in Denton,TX and I instantly knew I wanted to write and perform my original songs professionally. I started my first band “SoulBol” fall of 2003 and we played many campus events until I graduated in 2007. For 3 years after graduation I worked transportation jobs, (Bus, Rail, and Private Cars) until music eventually got me fired from my last day job in 2010. From there I released over 10 albums and Im still going strong today in 2023!

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My Ultimate goal is for the world to know my original songs and to continue to tour and make music. There is nothing like inspiring others through my journey of music. Nothing like hearing fan stories of how my music helped them in some way. Nothing like dancing with and seeing the smiles on people’s faces across the world. I dont think I will ever get enough of that.

Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
Tik Tok and Instagram are very popular today. Youtube too! I really wish I had these tools in college! Facebook was actually launched while I was in college and was a bit of marketing help for me early on, But I would have loved to have Tik Tok and Instagram! Me and my friends would always create content for Facebook and Myspace, but it wasnt anything like Tik Tok and IG! Oh Well! Im happy to have them now too! LOL!
