Queen , appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start with a story that highlights an important way in which your brand diverges from the industry standard.

Madd Pop Records is an eclectic music house that focuses on developing talent and artist’s overall brands. We prepare artist for the stresses of the industry they may not see on TV. The long hours, the possible time away from family and friends. The seriousness of keeping dates and time management. We also represent our clients in getting them endorsements and media coverage.

Queen , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

My name is Queen Muhammad. I started Madd Pop Records in 2017 because I noticed the lack of artist development in the industry and how most new artists were unprepared for the ebs and flows of this business. Also our music style is so new, fresh and innovative. That’s what we’re known for and for building excellent client relationships.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

When Madd Pop Records helped fund Omar Tyree’s movie Monologues. Building and networking outside of music allows us to properly and effectively work for our clients. Our company being able to assist in the development of that movie project propelled us to new levels and solidified us as a productive mainstream force in this industry.

Have you ever had to pivot?

In 2020, facing the pandemic we had to immensely pivot from what we were used to which was doing LIVE shows to connecting with our fans through the internet. For some of our clients it was a harder transition than others but we got through it and came through it as a team. That was the worst time for us. A lot of our events were postponed or even cancelled due to social distancing regulations. I’m very grateful for a strong team.
