QUEEN , appreciate you joining us today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?
I took a risk in 2016 to step out on faith and start an afterschool and summer program to educate, empower and encourage youth to walk in their purpose. Me stepping out on faith has led to me now being a published author of over 50 books, journals, planners and the creation of Aspiring Authors Magazine. I launched AAALAC-African American Authors Literacy Awareness Campaign to bring awareness to black authors around the world while focusing on literacy and topics that affect our black communities others don’t like to talk about.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Wow I started because I wanted to be the change I wanted to see within my community. In 2014 , I would almost loss my life to domestic violence( SC ranked #1 at that time and #50 in education) and was given a second chance at I life. I had a passion for my community and for kids, so what better way to make a difference my business partner and I decided to launch an afterschool & summer program to help Educate, Empower and Encourage our youth to be Trailblazers. On this journey I was able to meet so many people that would sow into my life words of encouragement and inspiration to do more. I soon realized that I had a gift of collaborations after becoming a published author and organizing my very 1st book expo, dinner with an author event and poetry slam all at the Clemson Area African Museum, I have had the opportunity to meet some amazing people with amazing stories, I have been featured in magazine, newspapers, interviewed for radio, podcast , and TV to share how God spared my life to be able to help others find and explore their purpose in life. L.I.F.E. , we have to Learn to love more , inspire a strange you never know who you maybe entertaining. Always having the fear of God and moving by F.A.I.T.H. to provide the E3experience(educate, empower &encourage). If you want to live a better LIFE we have to be intentional about the things of God…… I wanted people to not have to experience a lot of the things I did in life. Becoming an author open so many doors for me and gave me a voice to be!
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
My whole journey has been one of resilience. I didn’t mention that my journey started in my youth, 12 days after my 16th bday would change my life forever. I lost my best friend, my mother . That would begin the struggle and battle fit in, to feel loved, and appreciated. This sparked a few setbacks in my life I would loss my self over the years. Domestic Violence and suicide attempts I survived to be here to share my life story with others to inspire them to live their best possible life.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
The last 3 years, I had to re-invent Angela I had to step outside my box and do things that I normally didn’t do. I ended up go live on social media and it lead to me being a host a WBNN network on blogtalk radio May I will celebrate 3yrs with network. I utilized the my power to not be silent no more but to speak out so others wouldn’t have to suffer in silence or along. I started a couple movement and garnered the name Queen of Collaborations (which lead to the Start of Queens of Collaborations Life coaching & consultant. Open my mouth and being a willing vessel to be used by God as opened the door for everything I do, it’s definitely not by my power.
