We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Que’ Shaon Williams. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Que’ Shaon below.
Hi Que’ Shaon, thanks for joining us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Que’ Shaon Williams. Everything for me started around music and entertainment. I went to Full Sail University with a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Entertainment Business Management. My pursuit as a recording artist quickly showed me that love isn’t the only thing you need to dream big. So, I took time to figure out what I could do to give back and do what I love. Filmmaking came across my vision board. I fell in love with it, purchased my first professional camera, and realized that I was really good with it. In my past day job, I was a Beauty Stylist where I had to learn about skin and makeup, and I applied those skills with my film clients to provide a pristine experience and final product. I’ve come from a journey of homelessness, neglect, and abuse to be able to rise in this chapter, and I’m constantly grateful for being given one more chance from day to day to add something greater to my story. At DeCrii, we provide Multimedia Production and Artist Business Education Services. Currently, we are providing Personal Branding, Commercial, Wedding, Private Event, Political, and Real Estate Clients in our Multimedia Services division. A lot of times, we as creatives all have the vision, but we don’t always know how to make it happen or how much it costs. Working with both myself and a team of Designers, Filmmakers, and Educators, we work with you on what your vision looks like and ensure we are turning that vision into reality. My very first project was doing a prom send-off, and as nervous as I was, I was communicative, thorough, and established confidence in my skills based on my then understanding. Since then, I’ve grown my business, and as we are open, we are now accepting clients whom both my team and I are excited to work with. What separates us from many is our relationship with our clients. We’re committed to long-term relationships, and out of those relationships, we want to build trust in ensuring we are the authority to be able to handle your project goals and your satisfaction.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
Any advice for managing a team?
My Advice would be not to sit high and look low. Get involved, be a part of, and be genuinely you. There’s not a moment that my team can’t talk to me, ask if I’ve heard the latest music (which I probably haven’t), or just simply be an ear. We’re a team on this journey which requires us to replenish each other to provide the best level of service.
