We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Quantarius Dean. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Quantarius below.
Quantarius, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
My mission is to give back to the community and to be the person I wish I had growing up.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Hello, my name is Quantarius “Coach Trey” Dean. I am the owner of DREAM Hoops, a skill development program here in Memphis, TN. DREAM stands for “Dedication, Responsibility, Education, Accountability and Motivation.” I got into this industry because of my love for the game of basketball and my love for the youth. During my time playing, I made a lot of mistakes due to the lack of knowledge I had about work ethic, going to college and etc. I learned from my mistakes and now the knowledge I have now I want to give back to the youth and be that person I wish I had growing up. Discipline is the most important thing is what I learned and I apply it to my everyday life now the same way it is needed to be great at basketball. I speak life into my clients even on their worse days, bad days can be a good day as well because you learn the most from those. Therefore, I tell my guys/girls to embrace those days learn from it and if those type of days come again you know how to fix it before it becomes a habit. I believe that is what makes me so different from the pros all the way down to pre k kids I train I treat them all the same and that’s to be the best version of themselves and don’t take the game for granted. I have been asked what does the “616” stand for on everything that deals with Dream Hoops and this would be my 1st time answering it publicly. It’s for my niece and baby brother that passed away, my niece was 6 and my brother was 16 so everything I do is in their loving memory!

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Word of mouth helped build my reputation. When I 1st started I only had 2 consistent clients and as they grew as players people began to take notice that they were working with me. I gained a few more clients and their parents loved how I interact, talk and treat their kids and it has taken off from there.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for me has been social media and my presence. Being consistent on social media, uploading pictures, reviews from clients, and videos has been the most effective because I’ve gained a big audience. With gaining such a big audience, going to tournaments and etc and potential clients seeing me support my current clients helps out a lot too because they see I care about every kid that works with me.
