Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Quania Jones. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Quania, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Parents can play a significant role in affecting how our lives and careers turn out – and so we think it’s important to look back and have conversations about what our parents did that affected us positive (or negatively) so that we can learn from the billions of experiences in each generation. What’s something you feel your parents did right that impacted you positively.
My mother, grandmothers, and close relatives really groomed me into the woman I am today. I grew up in a fashion family with strong southern roots. They are big on etiquette and being a respectable young lady. Music has always been around me and performances were frequent. This certainly explains my love for the arts. I had the opportunity to be mentored by jazz musicians, models, and producers about the industry. I had my start in dance, theater, and modeling. Each person taught me something beneficial that I never forgot. There were a few things I didn’t understand until later in life but I get it now. I had to keep my commitment to my craft and learn how to focus with or without distractions.
Quania, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Modeling was one of my first loves. It was exciting to transform into different versions of myself. I really love telling stories through photos and’s videos while stepping out of the box. This later contributed to my Influencer work in the lifestyle niche. I have a fashion & travel focus. The many years of training in the arts in front of the camera and behind the scenes has helped me understand both positions. I learned about photography from assisting my photographer friends with Creative Directing. This also made me look at fashion in a different way. Each outfit really is apart of the story you’re telling. My work is very fashion forward but still approachable. I’ve worked with Alaska Airlines, Armani Beauty, Kiehl’s, Comcast, and several others. I’m continuously expanding my network, I absolutely love meeting new people! I also have 2 blogs.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I believe being a person that does what she says she’s going to do has really helped with this. I feel that your word is everything I take that very seriously. Being kind and genuine has also made a big impact. Honesty has helped with so many situations. I care about the partnerships I have and I want the best results. I like to do better than what’s expected. I’m also very loyal.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I was sick at one point and had to pause all of my work until I could recover. It was very challenging but I still had to make sure all brands with pending collaborations were contacted and given updates. When you work for yourself, you can’t just take off of work and leave the work for someone else. This was a helpful lesson and I handled it the best way I knew how, that was through effective communication. Once I recovered I completed my campaigns successfully and created top tier work which made up for the wait.
