Quan., thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
Growing up in the entertainment world played a big part. My father being a national recording artist in the gospel music industry I was you traveling from state to state watching him sing and play (bass guitar) it made a big impact. Me and my brother grew older to form our own gospel quartet singing group call “The Sonz Of Zion” which we still sing today. Always being a fan of secular music or really any music I knew that music was instilled in me and my family. I didn’t want to just stick with one genre and I also knew R&B had my heart and music is my therapy it’s where I can be me and also touch people with my music, I wanted to create music that people would love and could relate to. I knew I was meant to be on the stage, I knew I was meant to have a mic in my hand, I knew this I what I was born to do. So here you have Quan.B someone the world will love.
Quan., before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m Jaquan Brown known as Quan.B R&B Artist and CEO of Riches N Glory LLC (Clothing Brand). I believe that ever since I open my eyes as a child I was born into music, father being a gospel singer and musician traveling from state to state, I got a grip on music at an early age, captivating different cities, different audiences I knew the music life was just for me. So growing me and my brothers got to see and be apart of the music world, to the point we started our own gospel group called “The Sonz Of Zion” which still sing today. But I knew I couldn’t stop there I knew I couldn’t just be in a box, I had this voice deep down inside that needed too be released I had this fire inside to tell a story from a different scale from a different experience. I want my fans to grasp that experience, one thing my fans can expect is a vibe that they can relate to, I provide music that’s good for the soul and mind not only do you listened but it gives my fans a chance to feel free it creates a safe space for the ears to hear, it creates a vision for the mind to see. Making music makes me proud because I’ve gotten the chance to touch people through my music I’ve gotten to create a space others could resonate and also to rely on to make themselves feel good and a space to just soak in life and the things that comes with it. I’m proud to be Quan.B I glad I can make an impact on the world.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Creating the best life for my children, them being my biggest fans I want to give them the life I wish I had, they’re my reason and my mission won’t be complete until I’m on the big stage giving them the life they deserve.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Being able to touch someone’s life from my music is the best, the feedback from certain songs that has helped someone get through a rough time mentally or even to brighten up their day is the best reward given.
