We were lucky to catch up with Qu The Music recently and have shared our conversation below.
Qu, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
Throughout my life I’ve always been asked what inspires me? Usually you would have that one person you could give that honor to but for me. I am inspired by life by life I mean the good times and the bad times because without those time I wouldn’t have met the people I have or gained the knowledge I have now. My mission is to not be anyone’s inspiration but for my story to be an inspiration for the next person who needs some.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am a Baltimore, Maryland native I began making my own songs and singing at the early age of 6. Leaving MD with only my childhood keyboard. At 15 I discovered producing software when I arrived in Arizona and began giving my songs life in developing my own east coast melodic pop/rap sound. Now currently running Qu The Music as owner recording studio in Utah. Known locally in a city away from I can be found helping locals perfect their sound. Something I am proud of is finding and developing a team that can see the same vision. When I am working with clients I make all my services available from venues , videographers, producers, and other artist so all i ask for my clients is to bring their Best performance as if their on stage. You can usually find me performing in different cities spreading music and business knowledge and inspiration to communities nationally throughout the U.S. with my “Muse Man” attire. So if you like a good show or need helping starting a business I am your muse!

Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?
Funding a business can be HARD! How I overcame some of my biggest obstacles was learning durability of products and using my resources. After graduating college I had my car laptop and midi keyboard from high school still have the little beast to this day. But I was looking for jobs and came across guitar center and thought they gotta have a deal for employees I worked there 3 years building my studio and they Covid-19 came ended up losing my job and I wasn’t inspired to work for anyone else so I took advantage of the worlds trauma and learned stocks and advertisement and social media to build a network and built a steady base of clients to work with in the studio which eventually got me a steady income to pursue music and be able to inspire others!

What else should we know about how you took your side hustle and scaled it up into what it is today?
Music started off as a passion for me. I didn’t even know you could sell beats until I was 15 and don’t get me wrong I’ve always been a hustler, music just never came as something to hustle for me. Once I sold my first beat online at 15 through soundcloud I was hooked ! I learned to get better different techniques and industry history. I have always been business minded so time and consistency and dedication to actually want to get somewhere doing music eventually led me to facing to options to own myself and make my vision come true or work for someone else knowing my potential milestones I have met is working with 30+ artist that I can say I have project I am proud of and turning my passion into a full time career.
