We were lucky to catch up with Qortez Brown recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Qortez thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
The story behind my mission is I just want to see people that look like me succeed. Growing up in a single mother household I seen my mother work long hours to just put food on the table. Day In day out I always had this mindset that I was going to go to college get a education and one day have a great career. While doing that the mission was to inspire others. Inspiring others is something that not only makes me happy , but it makes the world a better place. If I can inspire one kid a day I have won the day!

Qortez , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My family and I was going through hardship. I would come home from college to an air mattress sad and depressed. One day I made promise to myself was that I was going to overcome my struggles of depression and fear. My fear was if I made a business and no one supported me I would be a failure. However those long nights being on the phone with my bestfriend Menzell Murray talking about my ambitions of being a trainer. It came to reality as he would push me and tell me “ man make the page you will do great” As I look back 5 years ago that was one of the biggest choices of my life!

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
My journey is one of the most rewarding journeys I would honestly say. From my family being homeless moving from family place to family place. To help and give back to my community is the me of the most rewarding things that God has blessed me with. As failure and tribulations started to come in my life I would often tell myself “ there is light at the end of the tunnel keep going Tez”!

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele was just being “ organic “. Being myself at all times being able to relate to players and being able to help out anytime when needed it goes beyond basketball it’s for life!
