We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Qianqian Zhao a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

If so, can you walk us through your journey and how you made it happen? Was it like that from day one? If not, what were some of the major steps and milestones and do you think you could have sped up the process somehow knowing what you know now?

It has been a privilege to discover my passion and turn it into a fulfilling career. As a producer and cinematographer for Production House 8, I have had the opportunity to work on numerous projects that have enhanced the company’s esteemed reputation. Through years of collaboration, we have established a strong foundation of trust. In addition to my roles in production and cinematography, I also contribute as a software developer. I deeply value the trust and commitment the company has shown me, which motivates me to continue delivering successful projects. My dedication and proven track record in the film and commercial industry reflect my commitment to excellence.

For those who may not be familiar with my work, I’m a dedicated professional with a multifaceted career in the film and commercial industry. I went to Chapman University/ Dodge College for their Film production major. I have learned all my skills from Chapman. I am fortunate enough to learn and master my cinematography skills and Producing skills from numerous projects I have accomplished at Chapman.

I now, serve as a producer and cinematographer at Production House 8, where I have the privilege of contributing to a wide range of projects. My journey into this industry was fueled by a deep passion for storytelling and visual arts, which I was fortunate enough to transform into a rewarding career.

At Production House 8, we specialize in creating high-quality film and commercial content. Our services encompass everything from pre-production planning, filming, and post-production editing, to software development solutions that enhance our production capabilities. We aim to deliver compelling narratives and visually stunning pieces that captivate audiences and meet our clients’ needs.

One of the key problems we solve for our clients is the challenge of translating their vision into a powerful visual narrative. Is there mission driving your creative journey?

There is a very particular goal and mission in my creative journey. My goal is to make original content and produce it, shoot it, and even direct it. I have many stories to tell, I also write my ideas down so it helps me to develop them into a script more easily. I am trying my best to gain experience as a producer, and cinematographer on film sets. Learn from the good and bad. Adopting as the industry progresses. My mission will be making my own story which hopefully people can connect to.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?

The most rewarding aspect of being an artist is always the freedom. The freedom of thought, no limitation on your creations. Just get out there and do it, that is the most rewarding part. Free of judgment boundaries and rules. There isn’t right or wrong in being an artist, but truth.
