We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Pynk Roze a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Pynk , thanks for joining us today. Do you wish you had waited to pursue your creative career or do you wish you had started sooner?
I believe that everyone’s story is different, and life takes us through what we need to experience so that we can develop into who we truly are. I feel like I’ve always known I was a creator at heart, but having the courage to express my creativity has been the biggest hurdle in my journey as an artist and creator. I am learning to embrace every milestone, and not compare myself to anyone else and where I think I should be. It’s been exciting leaning into the unknown, and watching my story unfold the way it has. I know I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I call myself a light pusher. I am just here to spread good vibes, and be the light in dark places. As a music artist, I use my art as my safe place to say how I feel, without judgement. I also know that music is such a powerful medium, so I try to use my platform in responsible way, my goal is to promote positivity while speaking on real and relatable issues. I want all of my supporters to feel like they are empowered, and inspired by my art.
I’m so passionate about mental health, which is why I started my podcast Don’t Recycle project, where I have the chance to speak on healing and trauma, and breaking generational curses. I also work in the field as a psychiatric registered nurse. I get the chance to learn so much about mental illness and be apart of the healing process and I’m forever grateful for that experience.
What sets me apart is my drive, and my passion for what I stand for. I really live by what I speak about. Being a full time mom to two teenagers, working full time and pursuing my dreams makes me a VERY busy woman, but I wouldn’t trade this for anything. I’m literally living my dream life.

Do you think there is something that non-creatives might struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can shed some light?
Something that I think non-creatives may not realize is how much their support may mean to an artist. A lot of time, energy, and vulnerability goes into creating, and it feels good to know your work is appreciated! So don’t hold back! It means more than you know!

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist is being able to use the gifts that God has given me to impact others in a positive way. I love having the freedom to express myself.
