We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Puspa Oh a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Puspa, thanks for joining us today. Are you able to earn a full-time living from your creative work? If so, can you walk us through your journey and how you made it happen?
Living inside my own hobby is really magic. When they do what you love and love what you do, that’s exactly what I’ve been doing.
I’ve never imagined before I can stand happily, have my dream job and surrounded by good things.
Art is my half, I do painting mostly, I love making content about daily life and culinary journey also travelling.
And working as social media specialist and art director, it feels like you just do your daily activity, with full heart, happiness, and of course…being paid.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
8 years ago I tried my luck in creative industry and lucky me, it was going fine. I am making content for a brand, food and beverage in small city but it spreads all around my country, Indonesia. So, I also have to maintain good relationship with my business partner. So far I have been maintaining 80 restaurants.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
It makes me feeling grateful when people starting to know our product from content I have been made and they feel happy eating the products, share and give love to my painting and contents
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
Just believe in yourself. There is nothing that you can’t do, especially something you love. Of course you can do that!
