We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Promitto Lux a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Promitto , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
For our singer Cody Montney: “The first time I wanted to pursue anything creative in those means probably was when Roger and I were in a high school band together.”
For our lead guitarist Darren Seder: ” So per se there hasn’t been necessarily a beginning point other than the constant creative inspiration that has flown since roughly my teenage era. So the perpetual inspiration is not necessarily a means of career but something that will always flow through.”
As for our drummer Roger Bateson: ” as for me, my journey began when I was 12 years old musically. I had done all the management booking etc for every band I was in and reaching the hearts of those around me made me want to pursue this creative endeavor for life.”
Collectively this musical project has enabled and inspired all of us within it to sow our pursuit of spreading light and joy through music more than ever.

Promitto , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Each member of the band was inspired from an early age with music being a core part of who we were as people. We got into the industry via different means for Darren it was the art that he drew from life and his experiences, for Cody, it was the catharsis and escapism of mundanity and the trials of life. for Roger, it just was.
As far as the creative works we provide it is an all-encompassing means to share and potentially help those who suffer from the ailments of everyday life from heartbreak to job loss to homelessness to existential dread to overzealous Joy and everything else that helps a human being stay being human. It is a way for us to relate to our audience and to ourselves and express our humanity.
As far as what sets us apart from others we’re not sure that we want to be set apart from others. We want to relate to The Listener and the other artists because the listener is the only reason why the artist is perceived as an artist. The listeners interpretation of our art is the completion of our art.
We want our fans to know that our work is hopefully a catharsis for them to interpret and get whatever they may perceive as the point of our art is to help themselves. Our sentiments are open for interpretation on purpose so that the listener may reach the point that they need to help themselves.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect about being an artist is when something you have spent your heart and soul writing and recording and rehearsing touches someone else’s heart and soul listening.

Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
You got to be careful who you listen to because bad habits are harder to unlearn than to just learn the good habits. Great Resources are available via YouTube from musicians and artists you aspire to be like because art is derivative.
When buying gear you get what you pay for. A great resource for this is Sweetwater. They are a great company and provide great support for the products they provide.
Also, if there is a small music shop in your area, try to get to know the owner. 9 times out of 10 they are an artist themselves and will help you in your endeavors.
