We recently connected with Priya Kurup and have shared our conversation below.
Priya, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start with a story that highlights an important way in which your brand diverges from the industry standard.
I believe what I do differently amongst the rest of the 40,000+ realtors in the Houston area, is that I find all the answers, no matter how big or how small. Most people rely on past home buying experiences, but I also like to learn what is new, really research the marketing, the technology, and the home buying trends, and educate myself whether it is learning about your loan or your title policy. I will get you the answer or advise you on what is needed to move forward with your real estate transaction.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
I got into real estate in 2015, because my husband encouraged me to pursue the field, since I had a background in sales. I mostly help first time home buyers start to build equity by encouraging them to purchase their first property. The best way I can help my clients is being a resource for them and holding their hand throughout the home buying process. I am most proud of the arc in my career. I first started off on the administrative side processing transactions, then I began to hold open houses on the weekend along with taking classes, then a year later I became a realtor. I have been in the real estate industry for 7 years now and I am always learning something new. I recently joined a Broker who just started her own Brokerage, MOD Realty, and we have a lot of great things planned for now and for the future! I want my clients to know that I am honest and transparent and I would never push them into a sale unless I believed it was the right decision for that person.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I believe my reviews have helped build my reputation in the market. Realtors depend on referrals, I have family and friends, and even past clientele refer me new business. I also have reviews on social media, from past clients, and Zillow which have helped me lead generate as well.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
Past clients is number one. I also like to do property time, where you sit and field calls at your brokerage. Networking is key. Social media helps as well. Open Houses are a staple as well. In real estate, there is not 1 option, there are many. You just have to be consistent.
