Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Priscille Ngomege. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Priscille, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
The process by which I get ideas can come from anything. A lot of things inspire me. I get inspired by nature, art from the past, tv shows, movies, people, really the list goes on and on. I don’t have one certain thing that I get inspiration from because art of everywhere. When I first got into modeling, I did it as a hobby and for fun. Now it is more of a passion and something I pursue with more intention. Even though I might not have the height, or body build of the usual model. My hope for the future is that my talent will push me through the doors of the industry.

Priscille, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
One of the biggest reasons why I first got into modeling was because of a photographer named Rambo Elliott. She first saw me when I used to work at McDonald’s and each time she would come she raved about my face and how much I need to get in front of her camera. One day we finally set things up but even then I didn’t think I could really be a model. We shot two other times after that and each time she told how much of a natural I am and that gave me more and more confidence to first start seeing myself as a model and then to pursue it. The following weeks I started to give it a chance and started reaching out to local photographers who would be down to collaborate with me. I found one and then another and another, and with each time my skills, confidence, and mindset grew. The thing That I would say sets me apart from other is my versatility. Even though my main focus is to be an editorial model, that doesn’t stop me from being able to switch it up. I can do lifestyle, commercial, videos, and really anything. I am very adaptable and I like to take constructive criticism. I am most proud about overcoming self doubt. If I hadn’t changed my perception on myself I will not have been where am at. Am glad I was able to get out of my own head and just go for what I wanted to do. Future me is very proud of that!

How did you build your audience on social media?
I like to follow people on social media that I either personally know in real life or people that inspire me. Every time I work with a new creative weather it be me reaching out to them or them reaching out to me, I build a connection with them. I am glad that I have a lot of genuine people that support me and show me love by reposting my work, commenting and interacting one way or another. That’s how my work gets seen by other and I build my social media presence more and more, just by people interacting with my work.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
A lesson I have had to unlearn is that you can’t always sit and wait for something that you want to happen you have to go out your way to make it happen. What I mean by that is, in this day and age manifestation is big thing. The idea of attracting what’s for you just by being yourself. I do as a Matter of fact agree with the power of manifestation but I also believe that it’s not always going to happen that way. There’s also strength in not only relying on that but going out of your way to make sure things go your way along with prayer anything is possible.
